Scrapbooking

Now that Chris is back in school, it's back to real life.  Since I'm starting to feel better, I've started to tackle some of the organizational and fun projects I've been putting off like scrapbooking!!  Actually Creating Keepsakes, the Scrapbook magazine just called again and wants to publish another one of my scrapbook layouts in the MAY edition!  I'm so excited!  That’s two layouts so far!   I’ve completely cleaned the third bedroom and made it “Ryan Friendly” again.  I even put a bucket of toys up there for him to play with so I can scrapbook while he’s up there.

‘NO’

Ryan has hit the funniest 'stage'.  He has started to like the word NO.  He answers 'NO' to everything.  Do you want a snack? 'NO' Do you want to watch a movie? 'NO'.  I know he does though so I say "Ryan, say YES" and then he says 'YES'.  We go through this a zillion times a day.  It's quite funny.  There are a few times though when he says NO and really means it but mostly he says NO and means YES!!  He can now say ELBOW and knows where your 'whiskers' are...(from the kitty song).  He sure loves to do songs with all the actions.  His favorite are eensy weensy Spider, 6 Little Kitties, Here’s a ball for baby, and 5 Little Monkeys.  Last night he started copying me when I say “NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!” He wags his finger and in a very low voice mumbles something as long as my sentence.  It is so very cute!!  He loves to play with his toys.

Shopping and Games

On Thursday Chris stayed home from school... burned out already I guess... and we went up to Hagerstown to shop at the outlet stores for Chris' basketball shoes.  He got some for only $35! A great deal.  Then he found great sunglasses for $50 on sale for $29 but when we went to go buy them they rang up for $9.99.  Yahoo!  Then we went to babyGap and blew all our savings on cute little baby outfits for our unborn child.  We're crazy that way.  But it sure was fun.

Last night we went over to the Chuggs to watch ER and play YAHTZEE.  I won and got TWO YAHTZEES! Can you believe it?  It was great fun.

I finally got the third bedroom all organized from the Christmas mess so now it's perfectly clean with a big bucket of toys for Ryan to play with up there.  Now I can scrapbook while he plays with his toys.  (In theory that is)  I've organized my pictures but haven't gotten farther than that.

Movie Clips Couples Party

Last night we got our first official babysitter.  Rachel Lovejoy... a very ‘on the ball’ laurel.  Ryan was perfect... or so she says... Boy, it’s sure a lot of money to get a babysitter but it was so nice to go to our party without him!!!  Jared & Geneva hosted a “movie clip” party where we all bring a clip of one of our favorite movies... a funny part... We brought the Miracle Max part of Princess Bride and a section of Tommy Boy... although we thought of a ton of others.  Others brought clips from ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer’, ‘Black Sheep’, etc... that were hilarious.  It was a fun idea... then we played some good MAFIA games.  There were six couples... our best friends here.  We always have a great time playing with them.

2nd Trimester

I’m feeling pretty good... still sick at times but mostly fine.  I’m still wearing all my normal clothes.  I’m happy about that.  I’m now 15 weeks along... 3 months!  Wow  I felt the baby move for the first time last night and then again this morning in the bath.  It is too early for Chris to feel it but it sure is exciting.  I have another doctor’s appointment this week.   Last time (Dec 15th) I was down from 117 to 111 pounds. I wonder how much weight I’ll gain this time?

Church

Today was a wonderful Sunday.  We had study class before church... Sacrament meeting was wonderful... and our classes went great.  Will, a boy in Chris’ class just turned 16 but wishes he hadn’t because now he won’t be in Chris’ class.  My beehives are as bubbly as beehives get.  I really have to lay down the law before I get into my lesson so they won’t talk while I’m talking.  Today I had at least 10 girls!  It’s a big class.  I enjoy it... but I won’t be teaching for long since I’ve been called as the 2nd counselor in the YWs... over MIA MAIDS.  I’m kinda nervous.  Anyway I’ll be in charge of activities more than lessons.  After church we had Chelsea Bruun over for dinner.  John is on a rotation.  Then Chris took Ryan home teaching and I slept!  We just finished reading the first chapter of “7 habits of highly effective families” by Steven Covey.  It was very inspiring and of course these days I bawl at the drop of a hat so I was crying with a headache after 2 minutes!

School Update and Axis and Allies - Chris

We had a big pathology test this morning. It snowed all night so it took us an hour to get to school but we got there just in time for people to tell us school was cancelled and that we didn’t have to take the test until Friday. This was the first time our school has been cancelled, but there was no way I was going to not take the test. There just comes a point when I can’t handle any more studying. I was at that point. Besides, we have a huge Pharmacology test next Monday morning and I need all week to prepare for that. Anyway, they let us take the exam if we wanted to and I did. I think it went well. Then the rest of the day was cancelled and so we spent the day at the Chuggs. I figured I would have been stuck in classes and not studying anyway so Jared and I played Axis and Allies all day. It is my favorite board game that Jared has on the computer. I was Germany and Japan and I won. It was great fun. Tonight our combined activity was also cancelled and I was very pleased to just learn that school tomorrow is also cancelled. Usually, the storms that everyone freak out about are not that big but this one actually is.

Ryan’s Prayers

I just put Ryan to bed. We say prayers up in his room before bed and it’s like a race. He waits through the whole thing and then as soon as I get to “in the name of …”, he knows the end of the prayer is coming and he’s up and running towards his bed saying ‘AMEN’ on the way. We’re going to have to work on that. But it is nice that he likes to go to bed so much.

Ryan Update

Ryan got brand new shoes today and loves them. He keeps pointing at them and saying “SHOES”. He knows they are new. It’s cute.

Ryan got lots of attention today. He loves it, although he sure is a rough player. He likes to climb all over you and bounce and fall off and roll over you. It’s fine if he’s doing it with Chris, but he’s stepped on my hair and my stomach too many times. He loves to do actions to songs. He now knows Popcorn Popping and Book of Mormon Stories.

Lisa Girls Night Out

Last night I had a girls night out while Chris and Jared and the boys studied a little and played a lot. This morning Chris made me a nice pancake breakfast and we enjoyed the whole day together.
