Christmas Eve

We stayed home all day.  We baked two turkey breasts in the crockpot.  Made potatoes and gravy.  Wrapped presents.  Listened to the kids play Christmas songs on the piano ALL DAY LONG.  Listened to music… including one of Chris’ childhood favorites that the kids memorized and sang at the top of their lungs.  Skyped Grandma and Grandpa Walton.  Ate a big fancy turkey Christmas Eve Dinner.  Read and acted out Luke 2.  Opened a new Christmas book and read it… (a cute Children’s book about German Christmas traditions… in German of course.)  Took traditional ‘Christmas Eve’ pictures with our stockings.  Tried to calm the out-of-control crazy excited kids.  Decorated snowmen sugar cookies.  Wrote in each other’s ‘Nice Booklets’ and stuck them in the tree.  Got the cookie plate ready for Santa.  Said Family Prayer.  Ushered the bouncing kids to bed.

Ahhhhh…. Then we wrapped the last few presents.  Ate sugar cookies.  Watched ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ with Grandma and Grandpa.  And went to bed smiling.
