Kauai Trip–Day Two: Pool, Kayaking and Secret Falls
We started the day at the pool. The kids were so excited!!
GoPro Pictures…
About 11:00 we got our things ready for our day’s excursion and ate our sandwiches on the way to the Kamokila Hawaiian Village. We rented kayaks and paddle boards and headed off in search of the trailhead to the Secret Falls. This was hands down the most memorable and talked about excursion of our whole week. Can’t wait to do it again.
We used the GoPro for all our pictures, since I didn’t want my camera to get wet in the kayak.
We kayaked down the river and stopped at the Secret Falls trail…
One of the highlights (which also made it onto the video) was Katie bending down to pretend to kiss the frog – only it jumped right out of Andrew’s hand right into her face. It was so funny and she was so cute about it!! Love her.
Getting to the secret Falls was cool… a completely hidden waterfall and pool to swim in. It was COLD but everyone got all the way in except me.
After the hike back to the kayaks then we paddled for awhile past the Fern Grotto and on to the cliff jumping ledge. I wish we would have had more time there! We were late as it was getting our kayaks back so we couldn’t play around as much as we wanted. Still Ryan, Katie, Emily Megan and Chris did several jumps each – with video but no pictures. Luke and Matt hung out on the paddle board and I pulled them all around.
Beautiful views of the terrain and Wailua River on our way out…
And our first shave ice of the week. We got ours with ice cream in the middle – yum!
