Junior Year–Soccer Season for Katie

Katie almost didn’t do soccer this year.  She started with PRIDE in the fall but after only a couple weeks ended up breaking her arm in a crazy collision with Matt on the trampoline.  Then she was in a cast for the rest of the season.  I think she kind of liked her free afternoons which finally gave her enough time to do homework and even have some free time.  She was consigned to a Spring without High School soccer until the day before the registration deadline, when she lobbied that she really did want to play.  And we wholeheartedly supported.  She filled out the registration, sent in the money and was happy to play for Coach Keller for another season.

Practices were everyday afterschool from 3:00 – 4:30.  And she usually had one or two games each week as well.  She did really well as a right midfielder or right forward.  She definitely has some speed to get the ball.  She was constantly crossing the ball to get it in great position for a goal.  She even scored a couple times herself.  You did great, Kate.  So fun to watch you play!!

March was warm and sunny.  But April was cold, windy, snowy and so crazy.   Still, so fun.
