Luke’s school pictures.  I don’t ever order them but I keep the one little proof in his folder for the year.  On retakes day Luke signed up for a second picture just so that his mom ‘who loves pictures’ could have another free one.  Love this kid.

CLEVER JACK TAKES THE CAKE

One day long ago Jack found an invitation to the Princesses 10th birthday.  His mom said he could not go because they did not have a good present.  But he went looking and  bardering for ingredients for a cake.

After he made the cake his journey to the castle had begun.  On his way he passed by a flock of birds, they swooped down for the walnuts on the cake that read out ‘Happy Birthday Princess.” Jack did not mind because he still had 2 layers of cake, 10 candles, ad the most suculent strawberry in all the land.

Next, he came to a bridge.  “Toll!” a troll came from beneath the bridge.  The troll said that anyone who crosses my bridge has to pay.  But Jack did not have any money.  So they made a deal.  The troll said, “I will let you pass if you give me half that cake.  So Jack did not mind because he still had 1 layer of cake, 10 candles and the most suculent strawberry in all the land.

As he continued his journey, he found himself in a dark and spooky forest.  “Whoosh” went the wind.  Jack became more worried as the wind whispered “Turn back… turn back.”  But Jack made it through the forest without turning back because Jack needed to get his cake to the Princess.  Then he came across a gypsy woman and a big bear.  The gypsy woman started playing music with her concertina while the bear was gobbling up Jack’s cake.  “Hey”, creid Jack, watching the strawberry flying across the sky.  Jack still didn’t mind because he still had the most suculent strawberry in all the land.

Finally, Jack made it to the castle with his succculent strawberry.  Jack noticed the Princess did not like any of her presents. A guard told him, “The Princess is allergic to strawberries” and the guard ate the most succulent strawberry.

Jack finally reached the Princess and exclaimed the ENTIRE story.  She like it and told Jack that the story was her favorite present, and ordered him to cut the cake.

(Luke’s teacher – Mrs. Gradisar – loved his story and gave him a 3.5 on the essay with a ‘WOW’ at the top.  Love that my Luke is such a creative writer. )

Luke’s Essay about Pokemon

Do you want to learn about Pokemon, because I’m going to tell you about it.  Pokemon are creatures based off of random things like seeds, rocks or robots, stuff like that.  Pokemon can also be based of of animals like dogs, fish or horses.  Pokemon live wild in their habitat but people start a journey to catch Pokemon inside a Poke ball.  A Pokeball is a ball that opens and Pokemon shrink to fit in the Pokeball and when they go in, that Pokemon has it’s own habitat inside the Pokeball.  Then the Pokemon belongs to the person and the people use the Pokemon to battle and get badges.  That is what Pokemon is.

THE GINGERBREAD MAN WHO LOVES GINGER BREAD

One afternoon, Mr. Baker decided to make a ginger bread man, but when he made it, it turned alive and said, “Make more of me!”  The Gingerbread man forced the baker to make another gingerbread man.  In a flash the new ginger bread man was gone and the Baker saw the old gingerbread man licking his lips.  “Yum!” he said, “Make more!” And he made the baker bake another one.  The gingerbread man gobbled that one up too!  He kept making the Baker make more and more until, “I’m out of flour!” the baker said.  But then the baker had an idea and said, “Look at your hand!” The gingerbread man looked down at his hand and saw gingerbread and ate it off!  “Look at your feet and your whole body!”  The gingerbread man loved gingerbread so much that it ate it’s whole body.  The baker swept the crumbs off the floor and knew he was never going to make a gingerbread man ever again!

Mrs. Gradisar sent home a Christmas/Thank you card which read: Luke I just want you to know that I cherish this year 2016-2017 of being together with this class.  I think we all are pretty lucky.  I loved your card and most of all YOUR WORDS!  Fondly, Mrs. Gradisar  (She was the BEST teacher!)

HOW TO BE KIND TO OTHERS

I think the best ways to show kindness are these few things.  Fry not to fight with a friend or sibling.  My brother and I fight a lot. (Don’t follow our example.)  Also, you could say kind words to others.  Don’t be a bully or it will make them sad, and you’ll be sorry.  Lastly, maybe try helping your friends or neighbors.  For example, you could help your friend with math or something.  If you are having trouble with being a little more kind (no blame on you) keep this advice in your mind.     Opinion write by Luke Johnson

Mrs. Gradisar gave him a 3.5 and said, “I LOVE reading your writing!”

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT

My favorite restaurant is Costa Vida.  It’s sooo good!  First of all, I love the food, they have delicious tacos and burritos.   I also like… every drink and they are all really good.  next, when you tell them what you want, they dish your food up while you’re talking, so NO WAITING!!  Finally, when you leave, you don’t have to clean up yourself, they clean up for you!  I have a mighty opinion of Costa Vida.
