Trip to Canada–The Fourth
We spent the morning packing up and getting ready for our trip. At 12:00 we drove to Denver and hopped on our Frontier flight from Denver to Seattle. The turbulence as we took off was some of the worst we’d ever felt. Chris was sitting by the boys and had to reach over to calm Luke while Matt clung to his elbow. The girls were pretty frightened to. Lucky it only lasted about 10 or 15 minutes and then we had a peaceful flight. Flying is pretty easy with the kids these days. The boys spent most of the flight on their 3DS’s and the girls and I started out reading the Book of Mormon – we’re all hoping to get it completed by the end of the summer.
We landed in Seattle at 6:00. Even walking through the airport brought back so many memories. It’s been 10 years since we lived in Washington and flew anywhere from this airport but it still looked very familiar and had us reminiscing about our time there. We got our rental van and continued the reminiscing as we drove North through Seattle. We pulled off to eat dinner at Cafe Rio and then got back on the road. Even the drive to Canada reminded me of the many many times we made that drive while we lived in Washington.
We met my parents and Dan’s family in Bellingham. The kids were so excited to see their cousins. Boy do they love cousin time. The girls headed straight into songs and skits, and then bocce. The boys played bocce with Grandpa and then ran all over the park. We sat in chairs and talked. So good to be together. At 10:30 we watched the fireworks explode over the harbor. Happy Fourth! Now off to Canada!
