Some Normal Days in March

Monday, March 5th

  • I weight 120. Yay!

  • Exercised while watching the Grand Hotel. Love it!

  • Made soup in the crockpot

  • Edited Ryan’s pictures, organized and then sent out his letter. He’s doing so great.

  • At lunch

  • Made a grocery list of healthy foods — NO SUGAR again this week!!

  • Went to Costco

  • Folded laundry

  • Had a nap for 50 minutes

  • Megan and I went to the Valdez home to participate in the first discussion. Megan said it was her first time seeing a missionary “in action”.

  • Had dinner and cleaned the kitchen

  • FHE - family time line and ‘Future Prediction’ pages.

  • Dad helped Katie with college classes while I tucked the boys in and did tickle quizes. They love it.

Today I’m grateful for: Katie getting into BYU, Good self-control and a good weight, the Grand Hotel show. : )


Tuesday, March 6th

Blogged so many things. At least five! So great to get so much done.

RAN 2 miles and then showered and got ready.

Volunteered at School in the woods and then picked up Megan for an Ortho appointment. She gets her braces off in 2 weeks!

Eggs for dinner.

Went to the YW volleyball tournament. My three girls did so well and Cordera won all their games.

Worked on Katie’s BYU summer schedule: Biology and Religion

Megan and Maggie Jackson brought over Mint brownies for Katie to congratulate her.

Wednesday, March 7th

  • Luke was easily irritated today and it was quite a struggle.

  • I exercised on the treadmill — walked 3.5 miles and watched The Grand Hotel.

  • I made curry soup in the crock pot and cooked brown rice and quinoa in the rice cooker

  • Cleaned the kitchen, swept, vacuumed, dusted, washed windows and did the dishes. Love it!

  • Got bathed and dressed.

  • Went to Target to get toilet paper and more, then to Great Harvest Bread to get bread and Bath and Body works to pick up soap on sale.

  • I rode with Emily as she drove to piano. She’s at almost 8 hours and doing really well. While I waited for her I documented bills and napped for 15 minutes.

  • Ate dinner.

  • Girls headed off to the Stake Center for volleyball. Cordera ended up second in the Stake to Pine Creek Ward.

  • Watched a show with Meg. Chris headed off to play basketball at the church.

Today I’m grateful for: sourdough bread with 0g sugar. Yay!, good YW friend leaders, a clean house and being able to be a stay at home mom.


Monday, March 12th

  • Got the kids off and did a kettle bell work out with Mindy Larson

  • PURCHASED a new lens! : ) A fixed 85mm lens… I’m so excited.

  • Received Ryan’s email and sent it out

  • Did some Family History and typed out a life story

  • When Katie got home from school we worked on recipes, made a grocery list and went grocery shopping

  • Katie headed to swing dance

  • Katie and I made homemade chicken noodle soup.

  • Took Megan to soccer practice.

  • Chris blogged about his mission.

  • Then we watched ‘This is Us’ with the girls.

Today I’m grateful for: photography, Katie’s interest in cooking, This is Us — so good!


Tuesday, March 13th

  • Got the kids off to school and went to the iPad meeting at Chinook. Luke and Matt will have iPads in 5th and 4th grade next year at Chinook. Not too excited about it.

  • Shopped online for Easter stuff and shoes for the boys.

  • Sent pictures and went through emails. Definitely feel like a secretary sometimes.

  • Folded laundry and ironed.

  • Volunteered at Luke’s school

  • Read scriptures and journaled

  • Drove Megan and carpool to Soccer

  • Pasta salad for dinner and then changed all the burnt out lightbulbs

  • Picked up soccer girls and talked to my mom on the phone.

  • Had a bath

  • Played Istanbul with Emily and Megan

  • The girls sang songs and laughed and laughed at Katie’s dream and how scared Megan is about Wicked and Phantom. Cute girls.

Today I’m grateful for: Amazon, that the laundry is done and games and laughter with the girls.


Monday, March 19th

  • Katie and I are on no sugar for the week!

  • Got the kids off to school — hard since we were all so tired. Went over to Mindy’s house for a kettlebell workout and then walked on the treadmill at home.

  • Watched Gillmore girls with Katie durinjg Lunch and then folded laundry and ironed.

  • Got Ryan’s letter, organized his pictures and sent it out.

  • Enjoyed a nap in the afternoon

  • Megan’s soccer practice was cancelled because of wind and snow.

  • Fish and Vegetables for dinner and then went to Matthew’s Choir Concert at Chinook.

  • Family scripture reading and prayer and everyone in their beds by 8:30. Wow!! Everyone is so tired)

Tuesday, March 20th

  • Got the kids off to school

  • Cleaned the kitchen really well and mopped the floor

  • Exercised on the treadmill

  • Got stuck on my blog reading about Florence and Cinque Terre — so excited to go pick up Ryan and do these cities again!

  • Did a couple errands - over to Great Harvest Bread to pick up some bread, over to the Shops at Briargate for some Easter things and up to Target.

  • Picked up Luke and Ashlyn from School in the Woods.

  • Katie made dinner — white bean chili

  • I took Luke and Thane to soccer practice at 5:00

  • I took Bob and Charlee to soccer practice at 5:30

  • I took Matt and Ian to soccer practice at 6:30 — then I went to Costco and talked to my Dad for a bit.

  • Katie picked up Luke at 6:30

  • Mindy brought Matt home at 7:30

  • I brought Bob and Charlee home at 7:30 Soccer Season has officially started! Ha ha

    Today I’m grateful for: my blog, soccer kids and no volunteering at School in the Woods.


Wednesday, March 21st

  • Get kids off to school — Katie Emily head off to an all day choir fieldtrip

  • Luke and Matt helped me clean the kitchen, then I drove Luke to school

  • Went over to Mindy’s house to do a kettle bell exercise

  • Showered and had eggs and avocados for breakfast

  • Picked up Megan and headed to the Orthodontist to get her braces off. Then we headed to lunch at Panara Bread to celebrate. It’s tradition.

  • Vacuumed the van

  • Blogged about my Belgium trip from 6 years ago with the Chuggs

  • Skyped Grandma Walton — they are packing up and putting everything into pods to be shipped to Utah.

  • Rode with Emily as she drove to piano lessons and dropped off stuff at Goodwill on the way.

  • Went to Parent Teacher Conferences with Luke

  • Met Katie at Pine Creek parking lot and she took Luke home so I could head into the Senior Parent Meeting

  • Luke and Matt went to CUBS. For Young Women’s we had a Service Scavenger Hunt which was really fun.

  • Watched part of Pride and Prejudice with Katie, Megan had Brynn over and the boys watched a movie.

Today I’m grateful for: Katie’s help driving around, Pride and Prejudice, warm grey blanket and talking to Chris. Miss him.
