Trip to Pick up Ryan - The Blue Eye

The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër in Albanian) is a water spring and natural phenomenon occurring near the village of Muzinë in Southern Albania. It was definitely on Ryan’s list of things to see in our tour around Albania. He’d never been, but had heard about it from many of the members in different areas. We drove a couple hours from Gjirokastër to the Blue Eye and walked down the trail to check it out. The clear turquoise blue water bubbles forth from a depth of more than fifty meters. The color is unreal and the water is FREEZING.

Look at that color! So cool!

These boys were CRAZY to jump in. So cold!

We found another lagoon down stream and I headed in. It was so cold that it was painful! Ryan joined me for a picture and then I had to get out. My legs were throbbing! Ha ha. Good memories!
