Katie's Mission Call

Katie opened her mission call on Saturday night! So exciting! The Cooks, Jacksons, Starbucks, Moons, Ashlyn and boys, Grandma Johnson, Scott and Elisha, Brian, Ryan’s Roommates, Katie’s Roommates and so many other friends were there to watch and cheer. It was a big crowd and so fun. As soon as people entered they wrote their guesses in Katie’s mission journal and then put a pin on the map.

Love these cute snapshots of Katie opening her call!

So proud of this girl and her desire to serve a mission. The beginning of the semester was a little stressful for her as she tried to figure out WHEN she should go. She loved her mission prep class at BYU and spent a lot of time studying and praying about what was right for her. Each day she added a mission-o-meter to the bottom of her journaling showing how she was feeling that day about when she wanted to go — in the summer or after another fall semester. After a few weeks she felt really good about going in the summer and was anxious to get everything going so that she could submit her papers. She has such a great group of girl friends, who are all going on missions this summer. They are such a strength and support to each other. I’m so grateful that she has them and that they are going through all of this together. It is really quite remarkable.

Dad immediately pulled out his laptop so he could see the mission boundaries.

Such a great night chatting with friends and family.
