Luke Receives the Priesthood

With the new change in Church policy, Luke — just 11 years old in November — was eligible to receive the Priesthood in January. Chris and Luke had a talk one night about what the Priesthood was and the responsibilities of holding it. Luke has been so eager. In some respects, Luke is wise beyond his years. He takes the gospel seriously, bears his testimony often and feels the Spirit easily. He is also sensitive and frustrated by friends talking about inappropriate things and using bad language. Things are black and white for Luke. He has a tender heart, is worried about others, feels remorseful, and willingly repents when needed to make things right. I’ve been impressed over and over with how Luke deals with his challenges. He has a great attitude and strong testimony. Love this kid.

Luke received the Aaronic Priesthood from his Dad, Christopher Shane Johnson, on February 24th and asked Jon Jackson and Pete Theurer to stand in the circle.
