Life during Coronavirus - May

Friday, May 1st

We spent the evening playing games outside in the backyard. Lots of game of Bocce and Spike Ball. Nice to have some good weather recently.

Saturday, May 2nd

I just flipped my Rifle Paper Calendar to May. Then I got a big pink eraser and erased the whole month… Luke’s week at High Trails, Emily’s POP’s concert, my trip to Provo for Women’s Conference, my girls trip to St. George with my Mom and sisters, our trip to Norway, our night out to Hamilton in London, and multiple soccer games for the boys and High School games for Megan. I knew we weren’t doing all of these things but it’s still kind of sad to eraser it all. I did add a few things though… an Elementary School Teacher Parade, Matt’s birthday (that we will no longer miss!) a hair cut once things open up a little more and hopefully a possible trip to St. George for Chris and I.

Several emails from the School District and individual schools recently told us that:

  • May 18th is Emily’s AP TEST. 2:00pm

  • May 18th is Megan’s Soccer Uniform Drop Off and Senior Celebration Night. 4:30pm

  • May 20th is the last day of eLearning for Emily and Matt.

  • May 21st is Emily’s social distancing check out at Pine Creek. 1:00pm

  • May 21st is Matt’s 5th Grade Continuation. 6:00pm

  • May 22nd is the last day of eLearning for Luke.

  • May 26th is Matt’s social distancing return and check out at Chinook Trail Elementary. 8:30am

  • May 27th is the last day of eLearning for Megan.

  • May 28th is Megan’s social distancing check out at Pine Creek. 12:00pm

  • May 29th is Luke’s social distancing check out at Chinook Trail Middle School.

Can’t believe Matt is completely done with Elementary School and therefore the whole FAMILY is completely done with Elementary School! Crazy.

A few of my favorite memes recently…

Sunday, May 3rd

It’s Fast Sunday so we had a testimony meeting during our Family Sacrament Meeting which was pretty special. I started with my testimony. Then Chris. Then Ryan and Luke, Matt, Emily and Megan. So great to hear some of their thoughts and feelings about the blessing that it has been to be together during this time. Megan shared that she knows Heavenly Father is aware of us and this pandemic is for a reason. Emily shared feelings about reading her Patriarchal Blessing to Katie on Thursday and how it brought her peace. It really was a special thing to share.

After testimonies we headed to the kitchen table for Come Follow Me — which lasted almost 2 hours this week. Just so many good things to talk about and a lot of Book of Mormon backstory to explain who Ammon was going back to search for and what has happened with Zeniff’s group etc. I printed out a ‘map’ from Don’t Miss This which really helped.

We watched another episode of THE CHOSEN. This time we watched it downstairs. Love it!

We played a game of Seven Wonders, headed outside for a family council and tried to pass the time as we waited to eat Dinner. I skyped my parents and were able to talk to them for a long time, which was nice. Picture below was taken by Mike right before we skyped. They were looking through the book of Grandma and Grandpa Polley’s house. Matthew did a great job fasting for so long and then fell asleep on the couch right before we ate. We ate sweet pork tacos and this means we’ve eaten three Mexican meals in a row. Enchiladas, Torilla Soup and then Sweet Pork Tacos. The weather has been so nice lately. I guess we’re just pretending we’re on vacation in Mexico!

At 6:00 we got on a Walton Zoom call where all the grandkids asked my Dad questions about his childhood. Mike set everything up and recorded my Dad’s answers. Really cute questions… what was your favorite game? … what was your favorite candy? … how did you get punished? …what chores did you have? … when did you start loving popcorn? …what was your favorite toy? It was great stuff. After an hour of that then we stayed on to talk to Dan and Sarah, Scott and Elisha and Mike and Mom. I’ve been trying to figure out what it looks like to go visit my parents and so we talked out the scenario that if we quarantine for 2 weeks leading up to our visit, if they will feel safe with us coming. I wanted to know everyone’s thoughts. Maybe we will try to go out in June.

After two hours on Skype with my family then we dished out some ice cream and Facetimed Shelley - who is in St. George now with her sister Carol. Glad they can be together!

Chris and I enjoyed snuggling in bed and watching a new BBC show VANITY FAIR. Fun to have some time to ourselves. : )

Cute Emily

Sunday, May 10th

Last Sunday afternoon we sat outside in the sun and had a family council to plan some fun things for this week. Everyone gave ideas and we wrote them out in a big list. Then we plugged them into the schedule. It was fun to have things to look forward to every day.

Monday: Elementary School Teacher PARADE and ‘MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU’ Movie

No school work since it’s Monday. We worked out together, got some things done and then got to talk to Katie for a little while. She’s doing great. 14 Missionaries are coming in this week. And then another 10 every week for 3 months. Katie and Sister Thurgood will stay in their apartment and get a new companion. They will be over the Carollwood Ward. Sister Anderson will move into a new apartment with a new companion and will be over New Tampa.

The parade was cute. Matt, Luke and I walked down to the corner at 3:00pm and met up with Tiffany Hale. Fun to catch up. The teachers had decorated cars and signs that expressed their appreciation for the parents and students. It was especially fun to see Mrs. Craddock drive by. She was so excited to see Matt and loved his sign. For some reason this class of students calls her QUEEN SAVAGE.

We ate sweet pork taco leftovers for dinner while we watched an episode of LOST. Then we headed downstairs to watch STAR WARS Rise of Skywalker. It’s the last movie of the saga and it’s just SO good. When it was over we watched several of the extra credit movies about how they filmed certain parts and the process of composing music. Just amazing.

Tuesday: GIRLS SPA and MOVIE NIGHT/BOYS NIGHT

I took Emily to Target with me. I was looking for a few presents for Matthew and unfortunately we weren’t that successful. Toilet paper is back on the shelves but when it comes to work out weights or other ‘stay at home’ recreation we couldn’t find anything. Empty shelves. So interesting. And still no yeast. It was Emily’s first time out to Target in months. Her friend Riley texted back… “Mama Lisa must be crazy.” Most people were wearing masks in the stores but boy was it busy.

We ate dinner early and then watched an episode of LOST. At 6:00 the missionaries taught us a lesson on the Restoration.

Emily, Megan and I headed up to my master bathroom. First Megan washed her hair and then I gave her a haircut. She begged for me to cut it short so I took about an inch off or a little bit more and it’s surprisingly short. We did face tightening masks, a salt hand scrub to make our hands super soft, a sugar scrub for our lips - which made them bright red, moisturized our faces with serum and then did some legit massages. 15 minutes for each of us with the lights dimmed and Megan’s quiet instrumental disney spa music playing, which was perfect. The girls kept making each other laugh but still it was relaxing and super fun. Megan gives a pretty good foot massage! I got some details on their friends etc. and then we watched a chick-flick, which was cute. Fun to spend time with just these two.

Meanwhile Chris and the boys did some golf practice in the garage and then played lots of ping pong and pool. : )

Wednesday: SPORTS NIGHT

Chris went in to the hospital to work today. We worked out as a family and then worked on various homework assignments. I tried to edit pictures amid the distraction of kids asking for help and me motivating others to keep working or pick something better to do. I took some graduation pictures of Maggie with her BYU gear on and then came home to watch an episode of LOST with the family while we ate pancakes.

We headed outside to play shoot some hoops. We played Around the World and Knockout. Then back inside to watch the first part of TWO TOWERS. We’re on a roll with our LORD of the RINGS marathon.

Thursday: Daddy/Daughter DATE and Mom/Boys NIGHT

Chris decided he wanted to go golfing with Ryan in the afternoon so he asked the girls on a lunch date! They headed off to the Chick-fil-A drive through for sandwiches and fries and then to the Freddy’s drive through for ice cream. While they were gone then the boys and I started to make a fort in their room but just ended up changing their room around. The boys are super excited for the new configuration. It’s always exciting to switch your room around.

Chris and Ryan had a great time golfing. When they got home at 8:00 we watched a couple episodes of LOST and then sent the boys to bed while we wrapped presents and blew up navy and silver balloons to cover his floor.

Friday: Matt’s BIRTHDAY

Matt loved the balloons in his room. He actually woke up in the night and saw them and tiptoed through them to get to the bathroom. He told me in the morning that he had a big smile on his face the whole time. Grandma Johnson called and face-timed Matt for awhile to say Happy Birthday!

The kids worked on their school assignments for a few hours in the morning. Matt didn’t have much work to do at all but got his soccer practice and piano practice done as well. Lunch was mini pizza’s - Matt’s pick - and then he opened his presents. He was SO excited about everything he got — even though we couldn’t find a bike or Switch Controllers ANYWHERE. Crazy! Emily and Megan bought his some M&M’s and Rootbeer, which he was thrilled about and then $10.00 towards a switch controller. Luke and Ryan gave him a coupon for $20 towards a switch controller. Dad and I gave him a bike helmet and coupon for a bike, a BYU soccer ball and a blue YETI. Grandma Johnson spoiled him with $60. Grandma and Grandpa Walton sent him a book and sent a card with $20. So fun!!

We played a couple games of Drawful on JACKBOX. Matt’s pick. Then Dad took Matt to King Soopers… his first time in a store in months. He was happy to pick out his own birthday donuts. The rest of us made dinner while they were out. We ate spaghetti — Matt’s pick —and roasted carrots and zucchini. The Jacksons came over to bring Matt a few treats and wish him a Happy Birthday. We played a couple games of Seven Wonders — this time without Armada but in TEAMS, which was fun. Then donuts for everyone (except Luke and I. Luke ate some ice cream instead and I had some keto peanut butter bars. I’m trying to eat low carb these days).

Saturday: Family Hike and S’mores Campfire Party

Chris and I slept in until almost 9:00 and both got a 97% on our sleep app. That’s amazing. For some reason we’ve both had a tough time sleeping at night. The temperature has been going up and down and it’s been hard for me to feel warm or cold enough. Last night with the fan on and the head/air conditioning off and a warm blanket (not two) was the perfect combo. Finally! I usually sleep so well, but it’s been rough lately… for both of us. We worked out as a family and then did ‘Hour of Cleaning’. For lunch Dad made us some Christmas Breakfast and then Dad and the kids launched into a game of RISK. They’ve been trying to fit this in for awhile now.

We started to gather stuff for S’mores as the sun was setting. The kids were pretty excited. We haven’t made s’mores at home for a really long time. We built a fire and had so much fun sitting around it and roasting our giant marshmallows. Megan kept talking about how much she loves camping and asking ‘when are we going camping?’ over and over again. It was a cold Colorado night. 50 degrees and dropping fast and a wind on top of that. We were roasting our marshmellows and trying to warm our hands at the same time. At the end of my third s’more, I headed inside to take a HOT bath and try to warm up. It was the perfect camping trip for me. S’mores around the campfire and then into a warm house to warm up. I’m pretty nervous about our camping trip with the Waltons at the end of July — hoping that will still be able to happen. : ) Chris and I got talking about RV trips this summer too! Wouldn’t that be so fun!!

Once clean and warm (but with hair still smelling of campfire) we gathered downstairs to watch some more of the Lord of the Rings Two Towers. So good.

Sunday: Mother’s Day and a game of CASTLES

Mother’s Day was the best ever. I got 100% sleep quality and woke up feeling great. I jumped in the shower, got ready for church and when I was ready, was escorted by all the kids downstairs to the kitchen table where cards were surrounding my Christmas breakfast and bowl of fruit. I immediately started reading the cards and cried and then cried some more. I just love Mother’s Day and am so grateful to be mother to my kids.

After breakfast we moved into the piano room to partake of the Sacrament and then back into the kitchen for our Come Follow Me lesson - which was great. Good discussions about Noah, Abinadi, Alma and Jesus Christ. We talked a lot about the POWER OF ONE and how much good (or bad) one person can do.

We played Castles of Burgandy (Dad won and then I was second) and then we played a game of Dominion with the BANK card — my pick — and I won. So fun.

Chris and Emily made dinner for us - cream cheese chicken and broccoli casserole. I printed out ‘3 Word Answers’ for everyone to fill out and we had fun laughing about our answers. I’ve been wanting to have some journaling time together for a long time.

Chris and the kids gifted me some new frying pans and a new vacuum cleaner! Fantastic.

At 6:00 we gathered on Zoom to ask questions to my Mom about her childhood. Because it was Mother’s Day, Katie was able to hop on and join in. It was fun for her to see everyone and they were excited to see her. : ) We ate some blue bell ice cream and then Chris and I watched another episode of Vanity Fair in bed. Such a good day.

Mother’s Day Letters - My very favorite part of Mother’s Day!

From Chris: Lisa, Happy Mother’s Day! I am so blessed to be married to you. You are such an amazing wife and mother and you make me so happy. It has been fun to be reading and reminiscing about some of our earlier days of marriage and parenthood as I have been working on the blog. All of it just reminds me how lucky I am to be with you through everything we have lived through. We have truly had a blessed life and I know that your goodness and faith and positive attitude and happy nature have so much to do with our life always being so wonderful. Thank you for being the perfect person for me to spend this life and eternity with.

From Ryan: Mom, there are a thousand reasons for me to say ‘thank you’ and ‘I love you’! What a blessing it’s been to be home and spending more time than ever with you. You definitely make things more fun just by being a part of it. Your personality is so fun, and I’m so grateful to be your son.

I love the dedication you have to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and your firm understanding of its importance. I’m so grateful that I get to live with that inheritance of a love of the Lord and a knowledge of the incredible Plan of Salvation, without which many circumstances would be so much harder to deal with. Because of the things you’ve taught me, I have a positive outlook on life and a knowledge that the Lord lives, loves me, and will guide me through any and all challenges. It will all be alright, and that is always so encouraging to know. So thank you infinitely for teaching me so many of those things and passing on your believing heart to me.

I love the endless hours you’ve put into blogging, scrapbooking, journaling, and photography. Just having access to our personal family history makes us a closer family as we remember what we have done together and the love we’ve shown for another. (Wow, I guess in that respect, your blog is like our family scriptures. The scriptures remind us of the countless thingsGod has done for us and how he loves us, and your blog does the same thing to remind us of our love for each other and the importance of family.) As you can see, I count your accounts of y life and of our family as one of the most precious things that we have. I’m glad that your example has helped me to record things about my life at BYU and about my mission. It will be great to have them and to know them.

Thanks for being someone I can talk to anytime and share my feelings with. You make me feel comfortable being around you and you are great at showing love and understanding. That is a huge blessing to know that you are there to talk to, even if I don’t talk to you about something.

Thanks for playing board games and for being so excited about Tetris. (That 187688 score is pretty impressive!) I’m excited to play Castles of Burgundy today!

Thanks for being so excited about the Word and the Glory That has been such a meaningful and fun family experience to read that together, so thanks for sharing it with us. The list could go on and on. My relationship with you is one of my most cherished, and will always be. Thanks for being my mother! I love you forever!

From Emily: MOMMA!! You are the best EVER! I love you so much. All the time we spend together is so fun and you teach me so much. We don’t have the same sense of humor at all, but it’s okay — your memes were kinda funny. Ha All growing up, you were a source of comfort to me and I always knew I could turn to you and still do. Your testimony is so strong and I love hearing you bear it to the fam and at church. Your advice is great ad I know you are always trying to help me be better. Thanks for being who you are (which is awesome) and being the BEST mom. Love you. Emily

From Megan: Mom! I love you so much! I am so so grateful for all you do for me and the fam. You make all the food, buy us clothes and help us with whatever we need AND love us no matter how many times we mess up. You are so funny and fun to be around. I literally wanna be you when I grow up. You found an amazing husband and father (shout out to Papa J) you are always looking to improve spiritually and health wise, and you raised 6 kids in the gospel. Dude you are the best. I love you so much and I always will. Love Meg

From Luke: Dear Mom, I love you so much! You are so nice and fun! I love watching movies with you and playing board games with you. You do so much for the family! Give birth to all of the kids, cook food for us, clean the house, love us all, and much more! You have such a strong testimony, and you are a great example to me. Happy Mothers Day! YOU ARE WONDERFUL!!! Love Luke

From Matt: Dear Mom, I love you so much. You are so kind. I’m so grateful for that you are my mom. I love you. Love Matt (With a picture of a horse since that’s my favorite animal)

It was a great day. Good sleep… emotional cards from my cute husband and kids… christmas breakfast… good gospel discussion… hidden notes from Megan around the house… fun games… didn’t have to make dinner… time for journaling… connecting with my parents and siblings… presents… random back rubs from Megan… video chatting with Katie… blue bell ice cream... and then a BBC show while snuggling with Chris in bed. Just Perfect.
— Lisa

Tuesday, May 12th - Sunday, May 17th — Trip to St. George with Friends

Such a fun trip! We were sad to not be on our CRUISE to NORWAY but being together in St. George was definitely a good idea. Chris and I felt a little nervous about agreeing to go but Utah’s coronavirus numbers have been so low that we decided it was worth the risk. So glad we went!

(more pictures on a separate post)

Monday, May 18th - Thursday, May 21st — A 3 1/2 Day Week

It was great to get home and be with the kids. We drove home early on Sunday and made good time so that we could enjoy the evening together. We came back excited to book something with our kids. We spent Monday researching options for a Memorial Day trip and decided that we would rent a cabin up in Mount Rushmore and head there for the weekend. We made some arrangements and JUST before booking on Tuesday afternoon Chris reached out to his sisters and they said, “Come, we’ll squish!” Chris called home and said, “I’m wondering if we should go to St. George instead?” I immediately said yes. When we brought up the vacation switch with the kids they were beyond excited. It meant that Emily would postpone her Pine Creek checkout until the next week, Luke would reschedule his Presentation for earlier Thursday morning and that Matt would miss his 5th Grade Continuation — Parade Style… but everyone agreed and we made plans to leave Thursday after Chris and Ryan put in a few hours working.

Monday:

  • We headed down to Helen Hunt Falls to play around in the river. Dad had an easy admin day and joined us after working for a few hours and Ryan was excited to join us as weIl. It was such a fun outing. No hike, just kid-led exploring and playing in the water. Dad and the kids built a dam and then we ate a picnic lunch. We need to do this more often!

  • We video-chatted with Katie all about her week.

  • Emily took her Environmental Science AP test on-line at home. So interesting to do it from home.

  • Megan and I headed over to Target with masks (Megan’s first time inside Target in over two months) to pick up some treats for the High School Seniors. Then we headed over to Pine Creek to drop off Megan’s soccer uniform and picked up a little gift bag with treats and a note from Coach Keller:

    • Megan, Wow! What a crazy event happening in the world! I am glad our community worked together to help limit the spread but I am disappointed that we didn’t get to play this season. I was very excited to see what this team would do. So much talent and in two weeks you had already started to bond. Stay in shape and start looking towards indoor this winter and an amazing 2021 season!!! I love the energy you bring to the soccer field. I am so disappointed that I didn’t get to see you score some amazing goals as a forward. I doubt this is the way you wanted to start off high school soccer as a freshman. I look forward to seeing you play next year, even if it isn’t for me. - Missed coaching you this season, Jeff Keller

  • After dropping off her uniform we got in one of the two lines of cars ready for the Seniors to arrive. At 5:30 when the Seniors came we honked our horns and waved as they drove through. Then, once they had all arrived, they got out of their cars and walked together through the cars. It made me a little emotional to see all those Seniors together… unable to play their Senior season. Glad we could celebrate them!

Tuesday:

  • Chris had physical therapy in the morning and then headed golfing after work.

  • Lots of laundry and packing to get ready to leave for St. George on Thursday!

Wednesday:

  • The last day of eLearning for Emily and Matt!! Matt said his teacher, Mrs. Craddock got emotional as she was saying goodbye to all the kids on the last zoom conference.

  • Principal Pat Schumaker sent out a ‘last day of school’ email that was great so I wanted to copy it here:

    • Chinook Trail Community,  The last day of instruction for the 2019-20 school year has passed.  When the students walked out of our wonderful building on March 12, who would have thought we would not return to our vibrant classrooms?  Over the past 9 weeks this community has rallied and developed a true partnership for the success of your students.  Morning meetings and small group instruction took place.  Parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends partnered with the CTES staff to ensure that learning took place for children.  There was sweat and tears along the way.  But---WE DID IT!

I know we all would have preferred to have the students in the CTES classrooms on the last day.  There would have been hugs, laughter, and tears.  Most likely there was still laughter and tears yesterday, unfortunately though—no hugs between the CTES staff and your kids.  No last day class pictures were taken and no cheers were heard as the bell rang at 3:55.  I share this not to bring you down, but to remind you that whatever emotions you and your children felt yesterday and may continue feel through the coming days, they are completely normal.

I’m sure there were smiles as you realized that you can cut the cord with MS Teams, Schoology, and SeeSaw for now. There are huge celebrations of what we have accomplished together---utilizing new technology platforms and resources; helping your child turn in assignments via the computer; keeping to some routines and having your child attend virtual class meetings, and a huge car parade to celebrate what we are---a school family.  Please celebrate your student(s) who showed that they can persevere through new territory and challenges.

I’m sure that there were also tears yesterday.  Students and teachers were mourning the loss of end of the year closing rituals that had them gathered on the carpet in front of the classroom.  Students were sad because they were unable to give hugs to a teacher, paraprofessional, nurse or even a principal who helped them throughout the year.  There were no high fives with friends as the closing bell rang.  And finally—were no bubbles filling our hallways as our 5th graders walked out one last time.  (My eyes tear up as I type this).

But---what I know about this caring community is that you found out ways to celebrate the last day as you never have.  You brought your children up to the school to take last day pictures.  You treated them to ice-cream or a special dinner at home.  You gave them a hug as they logged in to their final virtual class meeting.  You held their hand and ensured them that everything was going to be okay and that they would see their teachers and friends again.  You showed them the video of Branch dancing through the hallways that was posted on Instagram and Facebook. You may have even gone outside to blow bubbles! Yes---you provided safety, love, laughter, and reassurance as great care-takers do.  You made your child feel special---because they are!

So let us not mourn the loss of what we didn’t have but celebrate all that we have accomplished together.  We’ve got something special at CTES and we have not only survived but conquered e-Learning!  My heartfelt thanks to all of our students, parents, community partners, and staff members who did the impossible.  This principal’s heart is full.

      Virtual Hugs!  Pat Schumaker

Thursday, May 28th - Tuesday, May 26th — Trip to St. George with the Johnsons

Such a fun spontaneous trip to St. George. It’s been years since we’ve been to St. George with the whole family and this was the first time in Grandma’s house. Very squishy, not enough sleep, but so fun to be with everyone. Lots of fun games, good cousin time and yummy food!

(more pictures on a separate post)

Thursday, May 28th

Thursday Matt and I walked down to the school since we had missed the 5th Grade pick up and return on Tuesday. We wore our masks and headed into the school to drop off his school iPad and pick up a big bag of school work, treats and certificates. After SEVEN YEARS this is the LAST day heading to Chinook Trail Elementary! Crazy!! By the way… this is Matt’s favorite outfit these days. : )

The Fifth Grade Program and message from the Social Distancing Fifth grade car parade… we missed it since we took off for St. George on Thursday but they had his certificate and treats ready for him in his big black bag. Glad that they came up with a creative way to celebrate the kids.

A note from Assistant Principal to Matt… thanking him for his ‘teacher appreciation week card’:

Matt, I have to say that your card surprised me.  You are always so willing to give up the high fives and a big smile, but I didn’t know it mattered to you.  Thanks for letting me know!  I want so much for you guys to look back when you graduate, or have your own kids,  and know that you were loved by the staff at Chinook!  You rocked my world and it made a difference for me daily!  So thank you again for taking the time to let me know.  It felt AWESOME!  ROCK MIDDLE SCHOOL!  See you soon! Mrs. Campbell

Email from the School District - Looking Toward the Fall

While we are still actively working to complete this school year, we are also planning for fall. We have not yet received guidance from the state about what type of learning will be allowed or expected, but we do know there are likely three options:

  • a continuation of online eLearning

  • in-person, physically distanced, COVID compliant learning

  • a hybrid of eLearning and in-person physically distanced learning

Based on conversations with our Governor, we feel strongly we will return next fall with either physically distanced in-person learning or a hybrid online/in-person socially distanced learning environment. However, real-time health data will guide this decision.

Regardless of final guidelines and expectations, we are working to create an environment where students and staff feel safe, healthy and successful. While no timeline has been communicated regarding fall instruction, we hope to hear something in June. I have heard from many of you and your desire is clear, you want students to return to school in some way.

—————— ——————- ——————— ——————-

At 12:00 I took Megan and Emily over to Pine Creek to return textbooks and officially check out. They went in with masks and hardly saw another student. Crazy to be in the school again. Hoping for at least a little physical but ‘social distancing’ school in the fall. We’ll see.

Saturday, May 30th - Prom for Emily

These girls missed out on their end of the school year PROM and decided they wanted to have their own — WITH NO BOYS. So just the four of them met to get all ready, take pictures, eat pizza and chocolate fondue at the Jacksons house and then head over to Abbey’s house for movies. Love these four and their cute friendship. It was fun to take their pictures.

Back at home Dad, Ryan, Luke, Matt and I played a game of SeaFarers (which I won) and then headed downstairs to watch the LAST part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I think it took us all month (9 different nights) to get through all three movies.

Sunday, May 31st

After two weekends in St. George it was good to have a Sunday at home again. We gathered for the Sacrament and Come Follow Me at 10:00 and then headed straight downstairs to watch a BOOK OF MORMON VIDEO and then another episode of THE CHOSEN - which was so good. We played some games of Splendor and Dominion, worked on some budgeting and finances with the kids, ate fish and roasted vegetables, went on a walk and sang Happy Birthday to Megan Jackson and did some photo editing. Can’t believe tomorrow is JUNE!!
