Portland for Spencer and Brinnley's Wedding

We flew from Salt Lake City to Portland on Thursday night and got the Marriott at almost 11:00pm. In the morning Marilee texted us telling us to come by her room for a light breakfast. It was so fun to see Adam and Marilee and their family getting ready for this special day. Also neat to talk to Elder Christofferson again and see Spencer before they headed to the temple. We stayed to chat for a few minutes and then headed out as they were ready to leave.

Exploring Portland

Chris, Ryan and I decided to head downtown Portland in search of a great donut… and we found some at the BLUE STAR. I picked out a Chocolate Buttermilk Old-Fashioned and a Buttermilk Old-Fashioned… two classics. Chris and Ryan each ordered a Raspberry Rosemary Buttermilk. Ryan picked up an orange olive oil which he loved and Chris also tried the Buttermilk Old-Fashioned.

Portland is beautifully green and we picked a fun neighborhood to walk around it. We were so impressed with everyone wearing masks outside in the city.

Pictures at the Park

After the sealing, we gathered at a nearby park and rose garden for pictures since only the 16 were allowed on temple grounds due to COVID restrictions.

It was fun to chat with Adam and Marilee and their siblings as different sets of pictures were taken. Ryan loved being a groomsmen and enjoyed being with Spence and Brinnnley on their special day.

Twenty five years ago Chris and I were dating and two months from getting engaged. Adam and Marilee had just gotten married. Time is flying by. Love these good friends who are like family to us. So fun to be with them as they celebrate Spencer and Brinnley’s big day. Of course after I took the guys’ picture, Adam turned to look at Chris without skipping a beat. Gotta love inside jokes.

Below: Members of the White House… Trevor (honorary member), Michael, Ryan, Spencer, Charlie, Carson and Hayden. Loved seeing these boys together and talking to them throughout the night. So glad they were all here to support Spencer.

The Reception

The reception was held in Brinnley’s backyard, which was beautiful. The decorations were well done. The flowers were gorgeous and the whole scene was perfect. Cassie, Brinnley, Spencer and Ryan

Loved that each table had beautiful flowers and a framed picture of Spence and Brynnley. Their fun photo timeline was pretty cute as well.

Such cute pictures everywhere. Down the large stone staircase was the patio, which was used as a dance floor. So fun to see them dance their first dance together. After a few songs then the Groomsmen snuck away to start decorating the car. So happy to be here. Congratulations Spencer and Brinnley!!
