Chris’ Mission–Notes from Missionaries and Members

Elder Adam Christofferson

Johnson,   Hey fellow greenie! Your an awesome guy and a stud missionary! Thanks for being a great example and a good friend. I sincerely hope we get to serve together some time, because I know we would do awesome. Hopefully we will be at BYU together, hey maybe even room mates?!? Well, if one of us gets transferred I’m sure we will see each other sometime. Your a stud! Later.  Love,  Elder Adam Christofferson

Elder Kirk Budge

Hey Johnson,   It’s been great being in your district. Don’t forget about the awesome wiffle ball games, and the not so awesome basketball games, but hey remember I’m drinking mile and one of these years I’ll be able to swat you all over the place. Well, hopefully we don’t get transferred, but if we do I’ll see ya around. Take care bud. Elder Kirk Budge

Elder Troy Gage

Elder “Greenhorn” Johnson,   Another day another moment of silence for the great departure of Elder Gage as he returns to spend Christmas at home in the land of seagulls and beehives. With beautiful babes skiing the many slopes of Alta and Snowbird. Besides the nice girls just looking for a “G” line. Nevertheless, while you play ping pong and presidents I will be scoring my eternal comp and loving on the honeymoon. However, besides all the fun I will have while your having to tract. Enjoy your mission and may God bless ya.  Elder Troy Gage

Elder Darren Walker

Elder Chris Johnson,   Well here it is the day before transfers. If all goes well I should be on a bus in less than 48 hours from now. The two months that we have been serving together have been awesome. We have had tons of fun. Let’s be happy also because you are from Utah even though you like BYU. I will forgive you. You are an awesome missionary. Keep up the good work. Keep the faith.  Elder Darren Walker

Elder Curt Dunlap

Yo Johnson,   Well it has been an extreme joy to get to know you. Well, if one of us gets transferred tomorrow, I want you to know that you are a stud of a missionary. Seriously. Keep up the awesome job. This may sound strange coming from me but the Lord will bless you for your endeavors here. Take care and remember, “Attitude ain’t everything, but it helps.”  Elder Curt Dunlap

Elder Vaughn Waltman

Elder Johnson,   Well, I thought that I’d start this signing with a little poem. Roses are Red, violets are blue. Walkman might go AP, but it’s up to you. Vote Walkman AP in 93! Just kidding.  It’s been great being in the same zone with you for the past 3 months, playing B-ball and having fun. I knew that it was going to be sweet when I sat with you on the bus coming in. Your a great missionary, keep up the hard work, and practice up on your pong and maybe, just maybe, the 49ers will have a comeback against the Steelers in Super Bowl XXVI.  I hope that I’ll be able to serve around you sometime. Always remember, “One mans sunset is another mans dawn”.  Your pal,  Elder Vaughn Waltman

Dick Poe

Elder Johnson,   When I first met you I never realized what a super missionary you would turn out to be. To me you are in the top ten. I hope we continue to be friends for the time I have left on this earth. I know I will miss you so please try to keep in touch, don’t forget. My prayers and good wishes will always go with you. May our savior continue to guide and protect you.  Dick Poe

Lorraine Beal

Elder Johnson,   It was really nice to have met you. I hope your mission goes well and that you learn a lot from it. May god bless you throughout your mission and after. Be good and teach those people the truth. Just remember the gospels true.

Elder Kim Hardy

Elder Johnson,   What a great honor it has been to work with you here in Muskegon. You have such a great desire to do your best while you are in the service of our Heavenly Father. you have a special spirit within you. Please do not hid it from those who are searching for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the Lord is our savior for his sacrifice was a blessing to an unworthy soul, such as myself. I love you and will always remember your kind example to me.  Elder Kim Hardy

Elder Eric Johnsen

Elder Who? Oh year that weird name Johanson or jonson or Johnsen (the correct way) or Johnson. Stud, it’s been really awesome to get to know you. Hopefully someday I’ll get to serve with you, or under you (you’ll probably be my zone leader). From what I’ve seen of you, it looks like your doing a fabulous job, keep up the good work. If we don’t get to serve around or with each other, than lets do some stuff when you return “home”. Wow, what a long ways away that is. Or should I say “Short, very short”. Your going to be such a great missionary. Hey do me a favor, write home to the most good looking girl you know and set me up.  Your friend,  Elder Eric Johnsen

Elder Russell Cloward

Elder Johnson,   Well guy, guess what it’s almost time to hang my black name tag up, but I will always be a missionary. Man can you remember when we both came to Muskegon. That was almost 5 months ago. Time really goes by fast. Well all I can say is a mission will change your life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best thing and came to me at the right time in my life. If it didn’t, I would not be here today. My testimony has grown so big. You are going to love serving the Lord. Guy I have three missionaries that I really love a lot. You are the top. I have a lot of respect for you. You taught me a lot. I hope that you will keep in touch with me, I promise that I will. Well just thing of the fun times that we had. If I hear that you didn’t go AP, I will be shocked. You are a great, hard working, spiritual missionary. Keep it up. God bless you. Friends forever.  Elder Russell Cloward

Elder Bryan Halliday

Johnson,   Hey - Halliday here. Well, 3 months ago you got off the bus at the mall and I had absolutely no idea who you were - and now, we’ve spend almost every second of every day together and it seems like we’ve known each other forever now. So your my Bro and also my mission “Boy” - I’m just so damn proud of ya. Hey, get me a good Grandson alright. It’s too bad you’re leaving Muskegon, but Cheboygan rocks so have a blast and thrust it away. It’s been great serving with ya. Plus, I’m inspired to get back to some push ups and sit ups now. Hey, we’ll baptize the Holtz and Dianna for ya. So don’t worry about them. Just get some sweet work done in CHE-BOY-GAN. Love ya,  Elder Bryan Halliday

Elder Brian Lytle

Johnson,   It’s been real hanging out with you up here in the land of the ice and snow. Heard lots about you now I can see you in person. I just hope that someday I can play basketball like you. But most of all I wish I could be like you because you are soooo coool! Missions are rad. Just remember the things you learned your whole life.  Love you more than mud,  Elder Brian Lytle

Elder Wilson Elliss

Hey Johnson,   Hows the ole life treating you. There is a lot that you have helped me with the starting of my mission. You have been a really great guy and I hope that we can still be friends after this. You are a really really great and lovable guy and I know that you will be one of the best missionaries in the mission.  Elder Wilson Elliss

Elder Jake Smith

Well how ya doing Elder Chris Johnson? I’m very happy that I got to serve around you. I mean it. I didn’t get to serve with you, but I consider you a great friend of mine. I looked forward to each week when I’d get to see you and Sullivan. You guy’s helped me to stay a little sane. Anyway, enough mushy stuff, that’s for sister missionaries. Remember that “Thou shalt not count to four. Five is right out.”  I’m going to hang around you for a couple days when I get back so I can get a date, OK? Do you think you could help me out? Seriously, when we get back I really want to get with you and Sullivan. We’ll have some good times. Maybe we’ll go camping or go to St. George. Well, I don’t have any more space, or anymore time. (No, three sir). So I’ll end. Good luck, may the spirit be with you always. Whenever I see Pres. Hinckley, I’ll remember you (“I love that guy!”) The church is true.  Elder Jake Smith

Elder Steven Adams

Elder Johnson,   I’m glad I had the chance to meet you and serve around you and Elder Sullivan. Your both great missionaries and I learned a lot from the both of you. I hope the rest of your mission is great. If you are up in Idaho, feel free to stop by.  Have fun,  Elder Steven Adams

Elder Nathan Foote

Elder Johnson,   In the short time I’ve had to serve around you I’ve been greatly impressed with who you are. So many people often allow themselves to slip in the trap of not really loving themselves. Watching the confidence you have has been a great lesson to me on knowing who I am. Anyway, have a wonderful mission. Remember the Lord called you to succeed.  Elder Foote

Elder Brandan Hall

Elder Johnson,   I hope you continue faithful serve your mission and wear your yellow or tan suit often. Keep working hard and the Lord will bless you. Take care.  Elder Brandan Hall

Elder Kingsley Sullivan

Johnson,   What a sad day (May 27, 1993). But I was pretty lucky to serve in Cheboygan 5 months and 4 with you. We had it all, personal gym and all. What a great time we had. The best people lived in that area. It was awesome to have a baptism before we got split up. Misty is so cool. Did you baptize Wade? So, how’s your hair? You probably don’t have as nice of a hair cut. You should see me now, I got the best six pack.  Well, were almost to the golf course, so I’ll wrap it up. We have had some amazing experiences together. I’ll never forget those or the fun times we had. Look me up in SLC, Utah.  Friends Forever,  Elder Kingsley Sullivan

Olga

Recipe: Take one tall dark-haired guy, Add snapping dark eyes, Give him a happy smile, Then add the following: 1 cup of humor, 1 cup of talent, 1 gallon of brains, 1 heart full of loving care, And just a pinch of naughty.  Combine with care and perhaps you could come close to duplicating a very special guy named Elder Chris Johnson. But I doubt it, because the original is so much more than that.  I shall remember you for all the love and laughter you brought with you. May all your days be as happy and filled with purpose and may our Heavenly Father grant you his loving peace.  As Always,  Olga

Elder Mike Dickinson

Hey studboy!   Man - I can’t believe you're leaving me all alone in Cheboygan! All those DAs and great members - I guess I’ll manage somehow. heh heh! Thanks for kicking my butt so many times and helping me to be a better missionary. Hopefully your new comp will have a better memory than mine. I’m your fist mission son - so you won’t mid if I call you Pops, eh? Don’t forget my prophesy - I’m white and I’m bald by a palm tree in the sand. You got me stoked on Christmas and hopefully I’ll be able to pass it on to others. Hope my new comp likes Christmas tunes - cause I’m gonna play em all day - no matter what he thinks. But in a humble way eh? We still got a date with two sweet chicks when were both back in the world. After they go to see Phantom with us, they’ll be able to keep each other company while we go search for some California Girls. Thanks for helping me to set some good goals and to help me achieve some (Discussions and D.P.s) Keep in touch you punk so I know what your up to , then I’ll know if your turning into a Gent. (But I know you won’t) I hope you aren’t married before I get home - I wanna be there - the day you’ll only have one Chicky. Pretty soon the desk I’m writing on right now will be mine - you’ve got some pretty big shoes - hope I can fill them. Your truly a stud. Take care of yourself and listen to the spirit. I love you man. I’m proud to say I’ve served with ya - hopefully enough of you has rubbed off on me that I’ll be OK here in Cheboygan. Always remember all the Awesome times we had here. I’ll miss ya until I see ya again.  Elder Dickinson (McDog)

Elder Brad Johnson

Elder Johnson,   Had a most rad time serving around ya. Especially playing hoops. I learned and then learned some more. You are a most excellent ball player and missionary. We will have to get together again so Barkley and Malone can play one on one. Good luck with the rest of your mission. Work hard, time flies. You can come see my wife and kid when you get home. Church is true. Joseph Smith is a true prophet. Don’t let your mission pass you by.  Good luck,  Elder Brad Johnson

Elder Brandan Hall

Elder Johnson,   It has been great getting to know you. It has been awesome playing basketball with you and being on your team and beating Elder Dickinson and my comp. Don’t have too much fu in your next area. I hope that our paths may across again because you are a great influence on people you come in contact with. Enjoy Cheboygan while you can and take care and have fun.  Love your B-ball companion,  Elder Brandan Hall

Sister Eve Oneal

Some Christmas present, your leaving? I know I should have called Prez. When I meet him tomorrow, I’ll tell him. Elder you have no idea how much I’m gonna miss you. I looked forward to out talks, card games, you taking care of my van, your big smile and the spirit that shines in you and out of you. You have found a spot in my heart right next to Waltman’s spot. I know I’ll see you again either as a ZL or AP. Thanks for the talks and shutting off the TV.  Love ya,  Sister Eve Oneal (Dori)

Esther

This is from Esther. Albert Johnson, I don’t want you to go. Come back and see us.

Debbie Weiss

Elder Johnson,   What can I say. You are such a very special young man. I’m so grateful for all you have share with me and my family. You are such a dedicated missionary. I’ll always remember all our discussions with Wade and Misty. What very special times they were. It has helped my testimony to grow. I don’t know if you realize how much your sharing the gospel will change the lives of so many. You know I’ve known a lot of missionaries and they’ve all been great but you are really something special. Your parents have a lot to be proud of. Best wishes and keep up the faith. I know we shall meet again and I’m looking forward to it. Have a great life.  Love,  Debbie Weiss

Beth

Yo Elder type dude,   Best wishes at the other end of the lake. Notice they’ve kept you near the water for easy access baptisms. Keep up the bright spirit and thence for being a first rate missionary - and I should know.  Beth

Wade Wiartalla

Elder Johnson,   I really don’t know how to thank you for all that you have done for me and my family. If I can take what you have taught me and put it to work in my life, I will be very happy. You have been so caring and loving to me throughout the greatest and hardest time of my life, and I respect you so very much for your concern for me and my family. I would like to thank you for the many blessings you have given me and I will always pray that you will be blessed and protected in all of your journeys. I hope that you will be able to find peace and hope for all you desire in your life. I know you are a very special man.  I love you,  Wade

Jessica Wiartalla

Elder Johnson,   I loved having study with you. I will not forget you. I hope you will not forget me. I hop to see you again. I will miss you.  Love,  Jessica

The DeWitt family

Elder, it has been so great having you in our area! You are so special. You leave us with lots of good memories. Every time I make enchiladas I’ll think of you. I hope your next area treats you well and feeds you well. You will really be missed. I think all of us from St. Ignace should come out to Utah and have a reunion with all our favorite missionaries in a couple of years. We expect to receive a wedding invitation when the time arrives. We may surprise you. I wish you luck in your future. I know success will be yours if you continue on the path you are on.  Lots of love,  The DeWitt family

Sister Jane Weiss

Elder Johnson,   What can I say? Having you here for only seven months just wasn't long enough. You are one great missionary and person. We just might have to adopt you into our extended family. What do you think? Want to join us? We love you a lot and I sure hate seeing you go. I know it has to be - you are needed somewhere else to carry on this great work. So give it your all and I know we will see you again.  Love,  Sister Jane Weiss

Brother Gary Weiss

Elder:   We will miss you around here. You can come back anytime. Thank you for the great work done here in Cheboygan area. Say Hi to your Mom and Dad. Get those letters home to your family. Seek the things of the Lord. Lose the things of the world. Be bold with a heart full of love. Let me know when the last person in Michigan is baptized. You can do it, Elder. I love you and will be seeing you again. We will be in Utah the end of 94. Take care of yourself.  Brother Weiss

Elder Bryan Smith

Elder Johnson,   It has been great to get to know you. I have come to know you are an awesome missionary who puts hard work before fun. I know you will not only go far as a missionary but be a success in whatever you choose to do in life if you keep your outlook on life single to the Glory of God. I thank you for all the encouraging words you have given me and for putting up with my crap.  Elder Bryan Smith

Elder Ryan J. Wright

Elder Chris Johnson,   Hey you awesome missionary study. Man, you're awesome. When I told you you were the best district leader, I meant it because you do everything so smoothly and righteously. I thank God for you and your comp. You guys are sweet. I hope one of these days I will get to serve with you. I would love to serve with you man. Your a good hard worker and you truly have the mark of a thruster. You have taught me so much and I hope I can be half the man you are. I hope everything goes well for you in your life. You’ll always be welcome at my fire bud. You’ve always got a friend. I hope and pray the best for you and may the Lord send his choicest daughter for you. Your worth it.  Thrust, your amigo.  Elder Ryan J. Wright

Elder Alder

Hi Elder Johnson,   It was great to know ya. You were an awesome district leader. Good luck at the Zone Leader position. Your a good elder. Keep thrusting away. I’m thankful to be a missionary. I know we are here for a good reason. Keep the faith always. Have a good life.  Good luck,  Elder Alder

Elder Bruce A. Douglas

Hello Elder Johnson,   Well it’s transfer morning and were getting ready to push your butt outta here. I’m gonna miss you man. You’ve really taught me a lot about life, both as a missionary and as a Gent when I get home. I learned how to focus on missionary work and how to actually do the work. I thank you very much for that. I also learned how to get the chicks when I get home. You've been the best companion that I could’ve had. Thanks so much. You've got my card so be sure to stop by sometime. Anytime. Your always welcome at my fire. Take care and good luck on the rest of your mission and throughout life. Always remember, “There is no chance, no fate, no destiny; that can circumvent, or hinder, or control; the firm resolve of a determined soul.” Take care and remember I’ll always love ya man.  Elder Bruce A. Douglas

Andy McCabe

Dear Chris,   Well the Dear part sucks, but anyway, it’s been real great getting to know you. You are doing a good thing and touch more people than you realize. I hope we remain friends a long time. I may even make it to church one of these days. Take it easy and may the force be with you.  Bart (Andy McCabe)

Elder Kevin Bush

Hey Chris WA SUP?   By now you must know that your my idol, and I worship you by day and night. You and Christofferson are by far my favorite two companions. Sorry I don’t have a first and second favorite, just top stud list and yes you are on it. I really loved serving with you. You are the most upbeat comp I have had. You are always smiling an can laugh at anything except when I beat you at one on one. HaHa. Only 4 more days left for me and then I will be home with the family. You will have to look me up and us get together and do all the stuff we talked about doing after our missions. I will try to write once in a while, but I am making no promises. You keep up the good work and don’t forget I love you man, OK? Keep the faith and never settle for 2nd. PS, tell your sister we are getting married so we can have fun at family reunions.  Love ya,  Elder Kevin Bush

Elder Greg Marshall

Hi Johnson,   How the heck are ya? Well it was really fun having you and Larsen as our ZLs. That was a lot of fun on trade-offs. Sliding behind the car is just awesome. I also had a lot of fun Ice Skating. Well, it has been fun known ya. I will see you later.  Love ya,  Elder Greg Marshall

Elder Larson

Well, It’s been fun having you around and for an authority figure, you’re not half bad. I’ll always remember hookie bobbing as my best trade-offs ever.  Love, Larson

Elder Richard Larsen

Hey Johnson,   It was a pretty quick two months that we served together. We had some pretty awesome missionary experiences that we can tell the grandkids when we are old. Not only was the missionary work pretty awesome, but Christmas was a blast also. It was cool getting to know you. We don’t like too far away, so look me up some time. I’m going to beat you home and steal your girlfriend. (Ha, like I have a chance). Take care. PS. Be a Mormon, God is!  Elder Richard Larsen

Elder Heiner

Johnson,   You are a stud missionary! And your even not that bad at basketball. Man, my MTC comp (Elder Dickinson) lucked out when he got a trainer like you. Because I’m sure you were good. You were an awesome Zone Leader. I’ll just call you Elder commitment pattern. I love the way you rebuke people in a very nice way. Hey, I’ve learned a lot from you. You’re a good leader. Have a blast.  Love, Elder Heiner

Elder Chris Stoker

Elder CJ (nice initials),   Hey, its been great to serve around you. You’re a good guy and more importantly a good missionary. Keep up the good work and keep your nose clean. PS Work like it all depends on you, pray like it all depends on the Lord.  Elder Chris Stoker

Elder Jason Chamberlain

Dear Elder Johnson,   Dude, I can’t believe you are getting moved. I was totally surprised. Ya know I’d thought you would be the next AP. You’re awesome. Your the type of missionary everyone should look up to and try to become like. Keep working. I hope I can become as good of a missionary as you. You’ll probably be AP next month, after your trial of faith. You’ll have a great mission any way, no matter what kind of position you hold. I hope I can develop your leadership qualities and your missionary skills. I want you to know I respect and admire you. Take care.  Love, Elder Jason Chamberlain

Sister Jean Patton

Elder Chris Johnson,   Well dude, its so good to see you one last time before I hit the road west. What an extreme pleasure it has been to serve around you in the 2 different zones. Our group was just awesome and it is great to think we can be such good friends. My mission has been one great experience after another. I’ve definitely had my trials, but the Lord has truly carried me through each time when I’ve felt lost. I love the gospel with all my heart. And I want you to know that I do know that my Father in Heaven lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I also know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet as well as President Benson today is. I think you are a stalwart missionary, and what an example you are to so many people. Your last 6 months will fly by like they never have before. Heed the council of Elder Featherstone, sprint to the end. Johnson, keep up the great work that you do. And hope to see you at a mission reunion in 95. Know that you are a stud. PS When you get discouraged, think of Noah, he worked for over 300 years and all his contacts drowned.  Love, Sister Jean Patton

Elder Hawes

Elder Johnson,   It’s been good being with you. You're a hard worker and a door knocking expert. You really are a great leader in the Zone and/or sincere desire to give your best. Hope to be in your area again. Stay close to the Lord. Your Bud,  Elder Hawes

Elder Joseph Maday

Johnson,   It was awesome to serve with you and get 4 baptisms in 2 days. I learned a lot (ie. thrusting, how to have fun, baptizing, getting chicks, etc.) You are by far the best missionary I’ve met and definitely served with. Keep baptizing, having fun, and thrusting. If I don’t see you before you go home, have fun and a good life. Plus send me a wedding invite to your and Liz’s wedding. Love ya lots, your friend always.  Elder Joseph Maday

Sister Lori Wakefield

Elder Johnson,   It was good to see you again in the Grand Rapids Zone. It really does amaze me how fast our missions have gone. So many wonderful memories have been made throughout the months and I enjoy every minute of serving our Father in Heaven. I had a great time at Zone P-day. Basketball 3 point competitions are the best. Too bad we are all split up now. I’d love to have one more game before I go home. Well Johnson, I want you to know how much I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. What a blessing it is to be a missionary at this time in our lives to share the gospel to our friends here in Michigan. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored the gospel to the earth and our prophet today, President Benson, leader and directs this church through revelation. I’m grateful for the Book of Mormon and the knowledge we can gain through study and prayer. It is the Word of God and has been brought forth to share with all. Take care a good luck in the work. Keep your head high and remember who you are serving. Heavenly Father is pleased with your efforts. Make the last 6 months of your mission the best. It’s all worth it. Your friend.  Sister Lori Wakefield

Elder Gurr

Elder Johnson,   I’ve only been on my mission for 1 month and you are my first comp. So you know I'm not lying when I say your the best comp I’ve ever had. Well, now that we got that out of the way, I’d like to thank you for all you have done for me. You have showed me a lot of things I don’t think I would have ever figured out on my own for a very long time. So thanks. I know you will do well in life. Just keep working hard and most of all stay as close to the Gospel as you are now. That as you know will help you know more than anything else. I know that you should get a good looking wife because you are a hard working missionary. So when you do get married, I’ll be expecting to get an invitation to meet all the girls whose heart you broke. I wish you the best in Midland as Zone Leader, but more important I wish you luck throughout your life. This church is true. See ya when its through (the second coming).  Love ya,  Dax (Elder Gurr)

Jerad Hunsaker

Elder Johnson,   To one of the most memorable workout partners. You keep following me around the mission from Muskegon to Lansing and now Midland, what give? You just like to play basketball with the best I know, well I do to. Above all, serving the Lord has been a great experience for me. Thanks for being part of it. I’ve watched you and learned from you. Someday when you are married and look back on all this, you’ll realized I wasn’t really that bad of a guy, just a little misdirected with all my energy. It’s been great. Keep up those squats and you’ll dunk someday.  Elder Jerad Hunsaker

Elder Moon

Elder Johnson,   It’s been great serving with ya. Take pity on us lowly people when you are up there in the high office of AP. You insisted I write in here so you can remember me. But if you remember me, remember a small town farm boy who wants to follow Christ, wants to help his friend, wants to do what is right, but is sometimes held back by his own stubbornness and dislike for cities and large groups of people. Hope everything goes well for you. If you ever make it to the promised land (Idaho), you are always welcome by my campfire.  Love,  Elder Moon

Elder Damian Izatt

Elder Johnson,   Well its April 28 1994 and we are in Oscoda on Zone Leader trade offs. I hope you keep working out. I can hardly wait to get down to Midland to play some ball. I hope you remember all this when you read it in about 15 years or so. If you need any modification on your cars when you get home, you know who to call.  See ya later,  Elder Damian Izatt

Elder Nielsen

Johnson,   Have not been around ya for too long, but in that time I’ve learned a great deal. You are truly one Zone Leader who loves to serve the Lord and others. You've been a great example. Thanks for all the guidance.  Take care,  Elder Nielsen

Elder Edward Biehler

Johnson,   It was awesome serving around you, otherwise I wouldn't have learned the moves that you taught Pele. You've definitely got to look me up when you get home and well play some serious ball. I’m glad I got to know ya, your a dang good missionary. Keep up the good work.  God bless ya,  Elder Edward Biehler

Elder Jeff Johanson

Johnson,   Well Ammon - oops I mean Elder Johnson. We just missed each other, in fact more than once, but there will be a time that we will be able to team up and you will teach me the endless ways of your teachings. I look up to you and all you have done and what you stand for. I thank you for your example to me. I have though you are and are the greatest since I first heard your name. You may not have known that, but you do now. Your a stud. I want to wish you the best in the remaining months of your mission and throughout your life. You will be successful no matter what you do. Thanks for your friendship and taking time to get to know me. I loved building a friendship with you and laughing with ya. The gospels true and I love this work, the greatest time of my life.  Love ya man,  Elder Jeff Johanson

Sister Seymour

Dear Elder Johnson,   It’s a privilege to write in your journal. Well your such an awesome missionary. Keep up the great work that you're doing for the Lord. I love the Lord with all my heart and I know that as you do his work with faith in him, you will succeed. The work that we are sent to do it something that could bring much joy and happiness in our lives. Boy the time is going fast. Remember to sprint to the finish. Remember to pray like everything depends on the Lord and work like everything depends on you. Elder Johnson, your testimony is so strong. Keep yourself worthy of the spirit. My mission is coming to an end but it will be nice to go home and teach my nonmember families about this wonderful calling that has changed my life for good. Many times we don't really understand how we can change the lies of others but it’s great to see people change.  Love always,  Sister Seymour

Sister Neumarker

Elder Johnson,   I remember you back in Grand Rapids. I think that was the first time I met you. I remember thinking you seemed like such a sincere and hard-working missionary … and now I know my perception was right. I really admire you and think you're a great missionary and AP. I love your stories that you always share at Zone Conference - I always learn a lot. I think that is awesome when a missionary loves his mission and doesn't want to leave. We really do have such a short time to serve. The Lord gave all of himself so we could live and he requires so little of us. I am so thankful that I’ve had this year and a half to serve. It already seems like a dream. It went so fast. I love this gospel, it is the greatest knowledge that can come to any person on this earth and it is our duty to share it with them. Thanks for being such an awesome example. Good luck in all you do. I have finished the fight, I have kept the faith.  Love,  Sister Neumarker

Elder Kevin M. Wright

Elder Johnson,   Howdy! Well it has bee a great 2 years. And I can remember when I was in Big Rapids and I heard that you had come to this mission. It is good to have someone you know out in the field. I have really enjoyed getting to know you and build a stronger friendship. I can say I have learned where my real priorities are and where the gospel has made me so happy. I have gained a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith and I know that God lives. My membership in this church is the most important thing in my life. You are a great missionary and friend, I am thankful to know you. I will come to your homecoming. Take care,  Elder Kevin M. Wright

Elder Georgianna

Howdy Chris,   Well we have had some good times and some great talks. Thanks a lot for all you have done to keep me out here again and again. Hope you remember all of this. You also better get a hold of me when you get home so you can teach me some soccer skills. Take care and smile!  Elder Georgianna

Elder Doug Montgomery

Hey Johnson,   Dude, this road has been a good one. Kinda long on my part but dang it all I’m making it. You've had quite a successful mission my friend. I’ve always wanted to serve with you but I just made some dumb mistakes. So that will never happen since time is so short. I still remember the awesome times when you and Bush were in Cheboygan. And Walker in Gaylord. You guys saved me from my companion. Well, my friend, I hope life treats you awesome and he maybe well run into each other someday. I’ll look you up in Utah.  Love ya bud,  Elder Doug Montgomery

Sister Blank

Elder Johnson,   You are quite the missionary! I feel very privileged to be able to serve around you. You have so many good qualities, even if you did go to Alta High. I notice that you are so “on the ball”. You do everything - very talented too. You will amaze your family with your piano talent. Someday I will learn how to play that ‘Wine’ song, boy oh boy. You sing well too - we can even harmonize. We have had a lot of fun here. Lots of sports stuff - soccer, ping pong, rollerblading, volleyball, etc. This has been the funnest zone because we all like to do things together. Thanks also for the many favors you have done for us. Also all of the rides to an from Spartan Village - I greatly appreciate it. You have always been so kind, even if it made my face go RED. :) I’ll never forget all the DA’s at the Hibberts. They are the best! The ideal family with the ideal child. Well, wasn't Spartan Village the best? I truly love the people there, and I’ve had some of my greatest experiences in this area. Wow. The gospel is so TRUE. Missions are the most wonderful experience. It’s a shame that it all goes too fast. It all seems like a dream to me, but I know the things I’ve learned here will go with me forever. Elder Johnson, you continue to work hard. I know the Lord is pleased with you and you have served well. I admire you for many reasons. Thanks for keeping us sisters on our toes. Good luck with the rest of your mission - be grateful for every little thing. Maybe we’ll run into each other at BYU. Thanks for everything.  Love,  Sister Blank

Elder Glen P. Miner

Elder Johnson,   The time is gone. Its hard to believe but its true. Thank you so much for your example. Your desire and testimony are powerful. I look forward to seeing you again with the “thruster” gang again. I know with all my heart this is Jesus Christ one and only true church. I’ve felt it so many times as Ive been a tool to teach my brothers and sisters. I pray I’ll have strength to seek after those who seek the truth. I have the desire. Let’s use these skills through eternity. There’s much to do.  Love ya,  Elder Glen P. Miner

Elder Eric R. Johnsen

The #1 Johnson,   Well stud it’s time I have to write in the Masters journal. It’s been a privilege to serve with you. Your an awesome missionary, one I’ve looked up to for a long time. I have grown close to you. I have learned a lot about the hard work, obedience, and leadership from you! Your awesome Elder. I love the work, its amazing to know that my Savior has called me here and given me so much. My testimony has grown but now I must leave the greatest experience in my life. But I know there are things that I need to experience that I can’t as a missionary. Christ lives! We are members of his church that is so wonderful. Remember the gospel is true and I love you!  Your eternal friend,  Elder Eric R. Johnsen

Elder Keyte Behunin

Johnson,   I’ll see you back home either way no matter what happens. I wish we had time to take to each other and share feeling and experiences that we might edify and teach each other. I hope we can be friends and always grow towards Christ. I’ve always looked to you as an example. I hope you will always take time for me to be a friend and a brother. May the Lord continue to bless you in all you do. I wish I had some of your secrets.  Your friend always,  Keyte Behunin

Sister Jennifer Christensen

Elder C Johnson,   Hey what an awesome AP and Zone Leader you have been. I’ve truly been inspired by your testimony and example. You are an awesome missionary and you still can treat people as equals. Hey maybe someday I’ll achieve an equableness to your piano ability. I would be happy. I hope you have a great 2 months and you end your mission on a high. My last two months have been my best. I will miss the work, the people, and most of all the spirit. Give it all ya got. Stay true. You are awesome. If ever in Vegas, give me a call!  Sister Jennifer Christensen

Elder King

Elder C. Johnson,   You are a great Elder. I mean it. You have a strong testimony. I wish I could have had a chance to serve with ya. Right when I got here you made me feel at home and that really showed you cared. I know you go home soon. I want you to know I will make a difference here in Michigan. I will do the Lords work and be obedient. Good luck and have a great life.  Elder King

Elder Rick Powell

Elder C. Johnson,   I’ll always remember the trade offs we had up in Big Rapids. It was a blast. I’m not sure what happened with that young family that we drove and hiked through the snow to find. And then we were driving back and got lost and ended up in the wrong city and wrong area even. Ha Ha Ha. Well, I wanted to share with you a scripture 1 Nephi 15:24 And I said unto them that it was the word of God, and whoso would hearken unto the word of God and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness to lead them away to destruction. So keep reading the scriptures when you get home.  See ya later,  Elder Rick Powell

Sister Julie Ann Hatch

Dear Elder Johnson,   Thank you for your testimony and deep desire to serve the Lord faithfully. I cannot even begin to put into words how much you inspire me to do better and be more obedient. I’m grateful that the Lord has put your example in my life. You do have a very strong testimony an you work hard. I know Heavenly Father is proud of you as I am. I’m so thankful to be a missionary here in Michigan. I love to serve these people and watch the “light of Christ” come into their eyes and they do have a “mighty change”. I love to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. i know that it is true and teaches us to improve and have an eternal perpsective. I cannot express how much the people of Michigan mean to me and what they have taught me. I am so grateful for what I have learned and what I will continue to learn. I am so excited to see these people embrace the gospel and improve their lives. I know MLM will see the day when they will baptize 100 people a month. That is awesome. I know the Book of Mormon is true and is the most precious gift in converting people to the true Church of Jesus Christ. When people read it, they feel the SPIRIT and are converted. I know the BofM is true and I LOVE to read it. It teaches me hope faith, and charity plus many more things. It especially strengthens my testimony of Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of the gospel of Christ and his church. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and always will be. The integrity of that man is so incredible. I am deeply humbled to learn all that I do from the prophet Joseph Smith. I know Jesus is the Christ and we can bring people to His church through the spirit. You are a very special and talented servant of God and I will always remember you. May God bless you and give you this love and spirit always.  Love,  Sister Julie Ann Hatch

Sister Paige Walker

Elder Johnson,   Wow! Missions are the best. I’m so grateful for the chance that I have to be a missionary and share this beautiful message with the people here in Michigan. I never thought that serving a mission would have such an impact on me in so many ways. It’s awesome. Im grateful for the chance I have had to know you, even if it was in the mission van driving across the state with no air conditioner. Your such an example to all you work with and your hard work and dedication as a missionary is something I admire. Your a wonderful missionary with a great love for the Lord and his work. I know your Heavenly Father is so pleased with you and your service to him. Keep up the good work throughout your life. Your one of the best. I know God lives and this is his church. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I love to watch it change the lives of other people like is has min. I know it is through prayer and scriptures that we can obtain eternal life. I love the Lord and I love his work. Take care and best of luck.  Love always,  Sister Paige Walker

Sister Amanda Stewart

Elder Johnson,   What a joy is has been to serve in this mission with you. Thank you so very much for all your hard work and dedication to the Lord. You have been a great instrument in helping His work progress. Now that it’s all over (almost) you can look back and ponder a few things. The great Human Development theorist Eric Ericsson puts our life into states and the last stage is Integrity versus Despair. Do you look back and feel integrity, knowing that you did what was right, did all you wanted to accomplish or do you look back with despair, leaving goals unfulfilled and dreams unachieved. If I know you, you will look back on your mission with Integrity. It’s been great knowing you. Best of luck to you in all you strive for. It’s been great seeing you in the office every time I got a new companion. Too bad you’ll miss me being the one leaving. Really I’ve loved serving in this mission and in Grand Rapids deaf program. Its an awesome call. God Bless You.  Sister Amanda Stewart

Elder Brett Utley

Elder Johnson,   Whats up my cousins friend. What a small world it is. What a great joy it is for you to be in the same mission as an Utley. We had some great times when you were my Zone Leader in Mt. Pleasant. Well have to get together and make more videos. Maybe you will be picked to be in one of my movies. Make sure you tell your sister I think she is cute. Have fun at the Y. If you want to know what college life is really about, give me a call and I’ll let you come down to SUU. Well take care of yourself and remember the BRILLO. Tell my family “Hi” for me when you get home.  Love,  Elder Brett Utley

Elder Chad Backus

Elder Johnson,   You are awesome. I have enjoyed so much the opportunity that I have had to serve around and with such a great missionary. You are the epitome of a valiant servant of the Lord, a true missionary, FEARLESS and FULL OF LOVE. That is one of the greatest things I have learned from serving around you is the ability that you have to love others for who they are. You have taught me by example how to be a good leader. You have taught me by example just as the Prophet Joseph Smith did. You have taught me much and I know that you have some great things in store for you. I look forward to seeing you again when I get home and being able to meet your wife. You are an awesome missionary.  Love you,  Elder Chad Backus

Elder Ronald Barnes

Elder Johnson,   Wow! I didn’t want to write in your journal because I knew it would be saying goodbye. You are the man. I want yo to know just how much I look up to you. When I first met you back in March I could feel the spirit you possess. You remind me so much of the older brother I always wanted in the gospel. I can’t believe how time flies. It seems like yesterday when I came into the mission field. Now you'll be going home. I hope and pray that we can serve together some day.  Your friend forever,  Elder Ronald Barnes

Elder Shane Peery

Dear Elder Johnson,   Hello there! Boy the mission will be in sad shape for awhile after you go home. I think I’ll feel like the Nephite people did when the Savior left them. You’ve taught me about leadership and about every aspect of leadership and missionary work. I know that whatever you do, you will be successful. Look me up in the winter of 96 at the Y. I sure love you. God Speed.  Elder Shane Peery

Elder T. Gorda

Dear Johnson,   Hey buddy, you are a stud. You have been my favorite AP along with good old Johanson. You better have a good time at home. I better hear that Johnsons getting married very soon. Take good care of yourself and always stay strong. I know you have a strong testimony of the Savior. Keep that with you always.  Love ya buddy,  Elder T. Gorda

Elder Dixon

Elder Johnson,   It’s been great getting to know you. Best of luck with the rest of your life. I can look at you and tell what kind of missionary that you have been. I hope I look like that when I leave. You have been a great influence on a lot of people. Keep up the good work.  Love,  Elder Dixon

Elder Jonathan Harman

Elder Johnson,   Hey man it was great to be able to meet you. I still remember that day in December. We had a lot of fun. I hope the best for you in your life. I know you’ll go far. Just remember to keep up the scripture reading when you get home. I’ve been there and know how easy it is to get caught back up in life. I luv ya man, best wishes.  Elder Jonathan Harman

Elder Hafin Painter

Elder Johnson,   It looks as if time is really flying by for you. Its sad that the sweet experience of a mission must come to an end. You have truly been an exemplary missionary, one that I have tried to emulate. It’s going to be sad so see you go. You’ve done a lot for the work here. I only wish I could have had the chance to serve around you more. I learned a lot from you. You're a good man. Love ya!  Elder Hafin Painter

Elder Thacker

Elder Johnson,   You must be a real good missionary to have the spirit with you like you do. I didn’t get much time to know you, I wish I could have. I hope to keep up the good example that you and my Dad have set. I’ve got some large shoes to fill. Love you a lot.  Elder Thacker

Elder McMorrow

Sad day indeed, and how it was to see a dying man babble his last farewell testimony. Why a terrible pitiful sight to see him snivel and wine while he talked about his love for President Waite. Oh well. Today we door knocked, had a few discussions, baptized a few people, begged not to be translated so we could stay and teach and baptize more. We also met with the 3 Nephites this morning and they were teaching us how to convert cities at a time. Yet somehow McMorrow is still on my mind. I can’t stop thinking about him. I suppose I won’t be able to sleep tonight. Oh and we the fish tonight. Its getting late and I’m tired.  Good Night,  Elder Chris Johnson

Sister Jennie Phillips

Elder Johnson,   Hey! I just want to say that I really admire you and your love for the work. I have really learned a lot from your testimony - especially of Wilford Woodruff. What great ideas and inspiration you have. You're a great AP - I can tell by the spirit you carry and the lives that you touch. I’m grateful that I met you. You are excellent. I love this work. This is the best decision I ever made to come on a mission. I know you feel the same. I love how the Lord works and helps me daily to grow. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that he leaves and directs it. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and I love him and my Savior for the sacrifice they made. I am so grateful to be a member - I can’t believe how much the Lord blesses me. I truly love this gospel with all my heart. I know that you’ll go far in life. You are so talented (piano, speaking, etc.) and have such a great personality. I hope to see you again someday! Thank you for your example. I hope that someday I can be 1/2 as effective an instrument in the Lord’s hands. Take care and know that you have served well. One of my favorite scriptures is Mosiah 5:15. May God bless you. Keep the Faith.  See ya,  Sister Jennie Phillips

Elder Ryan Warren

Elder Johnson,   My fellow Hawk! What the tar. I follow you around for years at Alta and now you give me the time of day. I know that we never had to chance to serve together but hey you still have a month left and transfers aren't done yet. What do you think. You, me, Alpena here we come. Well rumor has it you're on your way out next month. Bummer. This mission will surely miss you. You kick some serious fanny. You have lived, walked, and talked the life of a great missionary and have set a great example for me and the mission. Sweet is the work. I trust you and I will meet again. Well my friend take care and I will see you in Sandy.  Love ya,  Elder Ryan Warren

Elder Olaveson

Elder Johnson,   Your an awesome guy. Your so lucky cause you get to serve around Elder Wright. I see leaders like you and the great work you do for the mission. Missions are too short. I have all these missionaries I would like to serve with like yourself, but there is not enough time. I have learned a lot from you just by being around you. Missions are the greatest. I feel so lucky that our Heavenly Father allowed me to become a member of His church and serve a mission. I would have never been able to learn so much and meet so many neat people like yourself anywhere else. Thanks for all that you have done by just being the example you are.  Love ya,  Elder Olaveson

Elder Scott Flanders

Johnson,   I always hate writing in peoples little books, so it if was anyone but you, I wouldn’t. Im not quite sure what to say except to say you are one of the biggest (if not the biggest) studs I know. I mean that. You are truly a great man in every way. I mean, anyone that can be an inspiration missionary and a great ball player at the same time is worthy of admiration. And since you're playing the piano even as I write that brings up another skill that I am ever so envious of. You do it all. You're truly a wonder of nature. I hope your head isn’t too big now, but I doubt your humility would allow that to happen. Have fun and I’ll see ya around.  Elder Scott Flanders

Sister Rimington

Dear John; I mean Babe Johnson, I mean Babe Ruth … 1-2-3 strikes I’m out! Wait a minute! 1-2-3 doors I’m in at the Lords ball game. Well I think I’m in your journal and I think this ones right: ELDER: (I’m pretty safe with that one).  I think its the black tag on your uniform that gave it away or maybe it was the number. You seem to be #1 in that uniform for the Lord and in his stat book, and I’m almost sure if I read this book you’d be number 1 too. You are quite a slugger and seem to have the plays figured out. You must have had a pretty good t-ball coach to get you here in the big leagues. And its so awesome to be onto Lords team isn't it? And if we just play by the rules and listen to the “coach” our stats are going to be tops in our book. Keep your foot in the game. Follow in his footsteps. It is so wonderful to have the path we have. We are sure to make it “Home” in this field. It’s white all ready to harvest. Lets go reap and fill up the seats in the “Grand Stand”. I am so excited to be part of the team. Hey, when you make it home, don't forget to look for me … and take me out … to the ball game!!  Keep it up,  Sister Rimington

Sister White

Elder Johnson,   I’m not quite the ham that my comp (Sister Rimington) is. She has quite the wit. Well, I want to thank you for sharing that sheet music with us. What an amazing power music has. That is truly one of the greatest things Heavenly Father has given us to make us happy. You know I think about life as a ladder on an apricot tree. Each rung you climb you find a juicier apricot riper and sweeter and when you get close to the top, you look back down the ladder and realize how many rungs you have climbed and how many apricots you have eaten and you realize that it is only one rung at a time that you climb. Like it is in life - line upon line, precept upon precept. That is how we learn and those apricots are the sweet joys of the gospel that keep us moving upward toward our climb to perfection. How great it is when we can lift someone on the rung below us and when we can climb together on the same rung. Well, that is enough about apricots. Thank you for your talk and your testimony. You are one that knows Jesus Christ because it shows in your eyes and in your actions. The gospel is true and the Lord loves you.  Sister White

Sister Reber

Elder Johnson,   Wow. I cant believe this last minute move. I’m so excited to serve with Sister White for what an excellent missionary she already is. Can I tell you though, its such a pleasure to have had the opportunity to serve around “the cream of the crop” such as yourself. Its been so great to see your example, your diligence, obedience, focus, testimony, etc. I’ve so enjoyed your talent you've shared. For it was you who inspired me to learn a hymn a month. I can almost but that University Ward is glad were not singing as often. hee-hee. And of course your soccer skills are most impressive. I’ve seen your success on campus and I know that you are led by the spirit. What would we do without the spirit. For it is by the spirit that I know that this is Christ’s church and He lives. The BOM is true and its the word of the prophets inspired to be written by the Holy Ghost and even by the direct instruction of the Lord himself. I love my Savior. Take care Elder and good luck in all you do.  Sister Reber

Elder Price E. Jenkins

Elder Johnson,   I am very very grateful for the privileged opportunity I’ve had to serve around you here in the Michigan Lansing Mission. From my very first Zone Conference, to this very day, I’ve always looked up to you as a missionary and a person. You have some very admirable attributes and skills which I hope to one day better emulate. I’ve especially enjoyed getting to know you as you've served as an AP. I’ve really admired your great leadership. Thank you for being such a good example for me, and thank you for taking the time to befriend me. I’ve really enjoyed this short trade-off we’ve had. It was very much appreciated. I hope that I can apply the things that I’ve learned from you. I’ll definitely always consider you a good friend, and I hope that at some point in our lives, we’ll be able to get together. Good luck with everything. I hope that the future goes well for you.  Elder Price E. Jenkins

Sister Lynita Reeser

Elder Johnson,   Hmm, what to say? It was quite a nice surprise to see you here in Saginaw. As much as I miss you all in Lansing it sure is nice to see you once in a while. That way I don’t feel quite as MSU sick. Well, what is it that I admire about Elder Johnson. Let’s see, I think just about everything. I really feel privileged to have been able to serve around you and be influenced by your great example. You have a lot of ambition and a way with people that is very unique. From what I have seen, you are very successful as a missionary and I’m quite positive that you will continue to succeed throughout your life. I love serving the Lord and finding those elect people who are willing to change their lives and follow the Savior. What a privilege to have taken part in such a marvelous work. Well, I have much more I could say, but time and paper are running out. Stay close to the Lord and you will succeed.  Love, Sister Lynita Reeser

Sister K Richardsen

Elder Johnson,   Well, what can I say? I remember a long time ago when I was a greenie and you were in my zone up in Traverse City. Then when you came to be the Zone Leader in Lansing and you said “I remember when Sister Richardson was green”. That humbled me. I though I was so cool and so experienced. Heavenly Father showed me different. We are so totally blessed to have these opportunities to grow and be given these challenges and grow some more. I have truly been blessed to know you on my mission. You are my friend. When I first got there to Williamston, I was so broken hearted and contrite. I felt as if I had not learned anything or changed or improved at all. You eased my mind by explaining Maday and I did not blame myself as much. The gospel is so true! I have loved my mission so much, it’s been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have grown to love my Savior so much more than I could ever imagine. It’s so awesome to be able to see how sharing this love with others has changed their lives. The Book of Mormon converts lives. I changed mine. I love it. I will miss you and admire you greatly. You are a good friend and very unconditional. I wish I could be as Christlike as you in this aspect, unfortunately I am too much of a dragon queen. Take care, be true. I will miss you and my soccer ball will too.  Sister K Richardsen

Sister Cox

Elder Johnson,   Wow! Where do I start. I’ve only had the opportunity to serve around you for a little bit, but the things I’ve learned. You are an excellent missionary and a very Christ-like person. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to serve around such good missionaries. It pushes me to work even harder. The mission is going to be losing a Great Elder. I want you to know how much I appreciate your testimony and the example you are to all of us. We sure are going to miss ya! I want you to know how much I love this gospel and serving my Heavenly Father. I’m so grateful to be a member of Christ’s church. I know our church is led by revelation and I’m grateful I have the opportunity to tell people about it. I’m grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith and all he did to restore the Gospel. I really love the Book of Mormon and I’m so grateful for it. It has truly changed my life. It is such a powerful converting tool. (It sure worked on me) Know that your Heavenly Father is pleased you served such an obedient honorable mission - I can just feel it - from your powerful testimony. Remember always let your life reflect your testimony. I’m sure you will have success in all that you do if you follow his guidance.  Love,  Sister Cox

Sister Stacey Crismon

Elder Johnson,   Thanks for being the kind of missionary you’ve been. You've been an inspiration to me. Thanks for your example. It’s helped me to know that no matter what I can be an obedient missionary. I’m so thankful for the opportunity that I have to serve a mission. To be here is Oscoda Michigan to be serving the people there and serving the Lord. I know that God lives, Jesus is the Christ. He did atone for all of our sins that we may live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. I love the Lord, I know the gospel is true. Stay close to the Lord and always remember that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true.  Take care,  Sister Stacey Crismon

Elder Malan

Elder Johnson,   Hey man! Thanks for being such a great example. You really help me set the tone for what kind of missionary I want to become. Keep studying that Book of Mormon and fill me in on all the stuff I miss. Keep in touch with Dickinson and I promise well hitch up again. Until then, carry on in the work of the Lord. I love ya man. Have fun in life and good luck in all you do.  Love,  Elder Malan

Elder CJ Stoker

Elder CJ,   Hey -I know I wrote in one of your journals already, when you left Lansing. You're a good leader. Keep progressing. Keep the missionary spirit. Remember who you are. Keep tickling the ivories and singing. Keep the faith.  Elder CJ Stoker

Elder Ryan Halliday

Dear Elder Johnson,   Man, I can’t believe that you are going home. You were and are a great example to me. I am trying to pattern myself after you. I hope that I will be the missionary you are. Don’t forget the things you've learned out here. It’s been such a pleasure to be around you for my first four months. Just can’t explain what kind of influence you’ve had on me. I only hope the best for you. Keep your foundation you've built together. The impact you are going to leave on peoples lives is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to hear about your wedding. It would be nice if you would wait until I get home, but I understand (I’ve seen pictures of her). Don’t tell her about me or else you might lose her. Take care of things. I love you.  Elder Ryan Halliday

Elder Ben Gyori

Dear Johnson,   It was awesome to serve around you. Hope you have an awesome time out at BYU. I’ll have to drop down when I got to Ricks, that is if you have time in between dates. You're the best. Stay awesome. Well have to do something down there in powder bliss.  Your friend,  Elder Ben Gyori

Elder Jared Lee

Elder Johnson,   So what’s going on? Here we are going home already. It doesn't seem like 2 years, does it? It feels like only a year at the most. I don’t know what to say. It’s been an incredible two years. I feel fortunate to have been in your presence for at least the three weeks in the MTC. You made a lot of your mission, AP and all I mean. Your leadership abilities definitely are great. I shouldn't tell you that because you might get a big head. No, not Elder Johnson. Anyway, the time has definitely been excellent. I’ll see you at a mission reunion. Thanks a lot man!  Love ya,  Elder Jared Lee

Elder Nathan Garner

Elder Johnson,   I was never any good at writing these departing things, but I’ll try. What an honor it is to be a servant of the Lord, especially here in the Michigan Lansing Mission. Too bad you’ll be leaving before the high point. This mission has so much in store, if only we could all catch the vision. My whole life, I have had tons of people ask me who my hero are. I have always said I don’t have any. No one could seem to fit the standards that I though were worth emulating. On my mission, Christ has become my hero as I have come to know him better. You have also, along with other great Elders, become one of my heros. Not too many people fit that bill. Too bad we never got to serve together.  Your friend,  Elder Nathan Garner

Elder K. Johnson

Elder Johnson,   I only regret I didn’t know you any longer. You have been very helpful to me as I have been learning my office duties. You are respected and well loved by all those in our mission and I’m sure others will react the same way when you return home. I have enjoyed your spirit and hope to see you often when we return to Utah. Sister Johnson and I would enjoy seeing you and your friends often at our home in Woodland Hills. Continue your good work and the Lord will always bless your life.  Elder K. Johnson

Sister Johnson

Dear Elder Johnson,   What a pleasure it has been to know you and serve with you in the mission office. You are really going to be missed. I have appreciated your devotion to your work and also the friendly cheerful manner you have in getting it all done. I wish you God speed in the coming weeks and months. I hope while you are a student at the Y, that you will come and visit us. May God bless you.  Sister Johnson

Elder Russell Wilson

Elder Johnson,   It has been a privilege to labor with you in the mission field. You have those qualities Dads would like to see in their sons. Your integrity is most important. When you combine that with your work ethic we see a servant of God who makes a difference - a head above the crowd. We are just happy to enjoy your enthusiasm, testimony, and talents. Your musical ability is appreciated and perhaps even coveted. May God bless you in all your endeavors.  Elder Russell Wilson

Sister Yvonne Wilson

Elder Johnson,   It seems we have a way of putting off those things we rally don't want to do - I’ve put this off as long as I can. Really though, I just can’t put into words my feelings and thoughts. I have loved having you around, your cheerful smile and attitude. Thanks for all the times you have stopped to answer my questions. You have been so very helpful. If you were my own son, I couldn't have been much more proud of you You will do good in whatever you choose to do. We’ll think of you often.  Love,  Sister Yvonne Wilson

Elder Joshua Grant Rowley

Elder Johnson,   The time has come! Boy, how the last 2 months have flown. You know, being in a threesome never present the opportunity to become very close. I regret that and am grateful for the time and opportunity I did have to get to know you and serve with you. I appreciate you patience and willingness to show me the way around the office. You were a great AP. I have hoped and do hope to be able to assist President at you have. You are a great missionary and will fill the measure of whatever calling you receive. You are awesome. Now, don't get married too quick. I would like to be home before your first child. That way I can be there when you name him after me. Do good.  Love,  Elder Joshua Grant Rowley

Elder Tuckfield

Elder Johnson,   Well its hard to believe that the time has come, I feel like we were just put together and its already been three months. I want to thank you for all that you have done for me and the great example you were to me. I’m so thankful that I got the chance to serve with you and to be able to get to know you. I wish you all the very best in life as you go back and start your life. I know you will do fin, as you are a very special person and I know the Lord has a lot in store for you. I have learned so much over the past three months and I’m so grateful that I was blessed enough to be able to learn some of your great talents and skills. What a blessing it is to be able to serve a mission and learn the different things we do out here. My mission has changed me for the rest of my life and it’s because of people like you that I’ve served with that have brought about that change in my life and I will be forever grateful to you for that. I’m so grateful that I came out here and met people like you that finally woke me up and helped me see how great the gospel is and what blessings it will bring into our lives if we but live the principles of the gospel. What a blessing it is to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation and the great love our heavenly father has for us. You will be missed but you will always be here in our hearts and thoughts. I wish you the very best in all that you do, I know whatever you decide to do you will do great at it. Remember to keep us informed on what you are doing back in Utah, don't forget to send me a wedding invitation. Well, it was great to be able to get to know you. I love you and will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.  Love,  Elder Tuckfield

Elder Johnson,   Well, it has all come to a close and I can’t believe it. It has been the greatest 2 years ever. I’m so thankful that we’ve been able to share this important time in our lives with each other. I will always remember some of the great experiences we have had. H.W.A! That first district can’t be beat. That was great. Remember that day we rode into our first areas on the bus. We sat right next to each other because we were “greenies” and didn’t know any better. That was a sign of a great bond that grew. I’ve always looked up to C. Johnson. The whole mission has. Serving in the office with you was one of the best months of my life. The Lord blessed us with some unforgettable experiences. Li and Dai were the best. What a blessing to teach and baptize them. We were definitely led by the hand of our Lord. President and Sister Waite are such wonderful people. We were again truly blessed to serve under such loving leaders. Elder Johnson, I want you to know of my testimony. I know the Church is true. It is the Lords kingdom here on earth. Jesus is our Savior and Exemplar. I love him as much as my heart can. The Prophet Joseph Smith is an inspiration to me. He did see God our Father and Jesus Christ. I love you very much. I look forward to the Y! We’re going to have a great time. The church is so important. I expect great things from you.  Love your brother,  Elder Adam P. Christofferson
