Week after Christmas

Arrival

  • Monday, December 27th we finished cleaning up and getting beds and blankets ready for our new guests.

  • Went to Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar with Katie, Emily and Megan for lunch… and then some exchanges at Lulu Lemon!

  • Brian, Grandma and Grandpa, Amy and Chris and Mike and Brian arrived from Utah and Texas. Taco Soup for dinner.

  • Brian gave us his Christmas presents… a $40 Giftcard to Anthropologie, a cute little red pitcher, and a new family game: WINGSPAN!

  • Everyone got settled in their different rooms - The Silva’s downstairs, G&G in Megan’s room, Mike and Carly and girls in Matthew’s room, Brian in Luke’s room, Brian and Luke on the couches downstairs, Megan on a mattress in the piano room, and Emily and Katie under the stairs (definitely Emily’s first choice because it’s so dark). What a full house!

Brian’s New Christmas Puzzle

Game of the Week

This is such a fun game! Chris and I had played it once with the Pattersons but it was so fun to play again and really understand it… and then again… and then again. Brian’s gift even came with a full BIRD PLAYLIST, which was so fun! I l love it when we just get SO into a new game. We played hours and hours every night!

Garden of the Gods

Always fun to explore Garden of the Gods while everyone is in town. A beautiful crisp blue-sky day.

Lots of time to hang out at home, games, talking and kids playing. I love that these pics showing Dad with his computer probably finding something interesting on youtube to show us all - Brian with his switch - paintings from the little kids - Luke with the geo tiles out - grandma playing with Sam - cameras all over the house and a game of pictionary waiting to be played. Love my family.

Ice Skating

Matt falling over makes me laugh so hard! And seeing his 49ers sweatshirt - given to him by Grandma Johnson who got it mixed up who likes what team.

New Years Eve Jar

This is a recent tradition and I think the first time we’ve done it with extended family. Everyone wrote one or two ideas of something the whole group could do together. Dance party to a certain song, 20 pushups, cut out a snow flake, 5 minute clean up of the living room, watch a Pixar short movie, go on a Lion Hunt, do a Just Dance song, play tag, read a scripture together, play a group game on the ping pong table etc. etc. The kids love being including and reaching into the jar to pick out what’s next. It’s so fun!

Thank You Notes

‘Write a thank you note or text to someone’ was one of the ideas in the jar. So fun to see all these notes of gratitude.
