Lisa's Week in Utah

Wednesday, Feb 23rd: Shelley picked me up from the airport and we visited for an hour or two at her house. Then we met Ryan, Cassie, Katie and Emily at Pizzeria Limone for dinner and then headed over to ONE FOR THE POT - a hilarious play at the Hale Center Theater. Fun to enjoy that with everyone. We gifted Shelley season tickets for Christmas and it was fun to go to one of them with her. After the play the college kids dropped me off at Mom and Dad’s house in Provo.

Thursday, Feb 24th: Exercising with Mom, shopping and lunch at Kneaders with Mom and Dad. Love being with them! A trip to the BYU bookstore to meet up with Emily and buy her some chocolate covered cinnamon bears and then dinner with Katie at G&G’s house and a late night trip to Target with Katie to help her buy a few things. In my spare minutes at night and in the morning I’m reading EDUCATED, which I’m captivated by.

Friday, Feb 25th: Exercising with Mom. Monae picked me up for lunch and we had great conversations, as always. Love my friend. Friday night Brian came down to Provo to play some games. We taught Mom how to play WINGSPAN, which was fun. Dad made us popcorn and brought us drinks. The girls studied near us and then Emily left for a big party.

Saturday, Feb 26th: Katie and Emily hung out and studied almost the WHOLE day. They are struggling through a hard Midterm week and even got a little emotional and overwhelmed. It’s such a stressful time of the semester. I’m glad they have each other to study with and learn from. My mom and I did a little shopping throughout the day. Early afternoon Ryan and Cassie came over and we started our first game of WINGSPAN. Fun to teach them how to play. Late afternoon we headed over to Mike and Carly’s new house to get the tour. Carly made delicious Crumble Cookies for us, which were so good. Fun to see the girls and Scott and his boys too - and get caught up. Mike and Carly are doing a few big projects with their house and it’s fun to hear about. I’m excited for them! We ordered Thai food and then headed over to Scott’s house for dinner and watched some of the BYU basketball game — mostly we just sat around the table and talked. Then back to G&G’s house to finish our Wingspan game.

Sunday, Feb 27th: Mom and Dad and I had a great Come Follow Me discussion - just the three of us, before church. Dad wasn’t feeling great so he stayed home and rested. Mom and I picked up Emily from her dorm and drove up to Scott and Elisha’s church to hear Foster and Elisha speak. They both did a great job. Katie and Dallie met us there. Fun to sit with Scott and the kids. Then all of the girls went to Relief Society with Elisha and had a great lesson on how we can minister to each other. Such great comments and thoughts. Scott’s family and Mike’s family and Brian joined us for Sunday dinner at G&G’s house. So fun to be all together!

Monday, Feb 28th: Brunch with Ali — so fun to get caught up. And then a meet up with Marilee to tour her Parade of Homes Home — which is incredible — and then out to lunch for hours of talking. Such a fun day with two of my best friends. Late night trip to visit Katie at her apartment. Fun to have a few minutes to really talk, see her cute room and say Hi to her roommates!

Tuesday, March 1st: Exercise with Mom, and then loaded the car with my luggage to head to the airport… but first, stops at Downeast and SunRiver with Mom, over to visit Mike and Carly again, lunch with Brian in Lehi and then up to Salt Lake. It was such a good week! So grateful that Chris urged me to come and spend time with Mom and Dad and my college kids, see friends and go to a play with Shelley. I loved it all!
