Girls Trip - Cozumel, Mexico and Sea Day

Cozumel

The sea was rough last night. The boat rocked back and forth. I was able to sleep pretty good until 4:00am when the sound of our night tables hitting each other woke me. I fixed the tables and couldn’t get back to sleep for an hour. Then an announcement- we would be getting to port late and all excursions leaving before 12:00 would be cancelled.  So much for our day at Xenses.

I worked out from 8:30-9:30. walked on the treadmill which was tricky with the boat going back and forth. And then a bunch of the machines. Feels good to use those. Then I headed to the back deck and sat on a lounge chair watching the water curl behind us. It didn’t seem nearly as rough then, which was nice.

At 12:30 we headed off into Cozumel and wandered through the port mall and then down the street all the while being hounded by Mexican merchants. I don’t love that. Then Pancho found us and asked if we wanted a tour of the island. We slowed a little to hear about the possible stops and Terri was sold. We haggled down to $25 per person and headed on our way.

Alberto drove us to a windy but beautiful little coastal resort,

Over to our second stop to get a table under a large thatched roof and enjoy expensive guacamole. Especially loved taking a picture of this beautiful bird and walking by the ocean.

Our last stop included a jungle stairway to an ocean lookout high above the water. Beautiful views, another beautiful bird and jungle pathways down a different way.

Three fun stops and then back to the port. After grabbing Mexican vanilla for Geneva, we headed back on the ship and dashed up to the spa for our daily special massage and facial treatment package. It was amazing!! Really one of the best massages I’ve gotten in the past several years.

Then downstairs to our rooms to get ready for dinner. Dinner was at the TASTE restaurant. I ordered asparagus soup, (I always order a soup if there is one!) bruschetta, and beef and cilantro rice and vegetables which was so good!

Azul in the game room. I won.  Early to bed. Asleep right at 11:00ish.

Sea-day

I got all of my things ready in the bathroom in case I woke up early, and so of course I slept in until 8:50! Amazing! We went and grabbed chairs on the 18+ deck and I stayed to text the kids and write in my journal while the girls headed to the gym. I got to the gym eventually- I just like having some time to myself for a minute each morning.

I laid out for an hour and then went to work out, showers and back to our chairs. Lunch at the garden cafe with the yummiest flourless chocolate cake. A storm came rolling in and we headed inside to shower and get cozy. Then we played Azul and then headed to the big theater room to join in BINGO. Geneva, Terri, and Missy each bought 3 bingo boards and I cheered them on.

We enjoyed our last dinner together and then headed to the Magic Show - which was amazing. It’s been such a fun week! Lots of time to talk about parenting, kids, marriage, clothes and makeup, the gospel and our testimonies. Love these ladies.
