All About Emily

Emily - age 20 - just finished her second year at BYU and was recently accepted into her major… Communication Disorders. Way to go, Emily! She earned a 3.7 GPA during her winter semester, which is pretty remarkable.

  2. Introduction to Film Grade: A

  3. Language Science Grade: A

  5. Foundations of the Restoration Grade: A

  6. Hearing Science and Acoustics (Least favorite class) Grade: B

Work:

We’ve always been impressed with how hard working Emily is! She has multiple jobs, puts in a lot of hours, saves and spends responsibly and is determined and driven.

This was her second year working with Event Sports and Outside Sales combined with the BYU Bowling Alley. This year she was a Student Manager for Outside Sales - in charge of setting up and preparing inventory for an event - such as BYU football games, BYU Women’s Conference Events and even traveling down to Las Vegas for away games. She’s been anxious to quit for awhile now but hasn’t. She has agreed to work until the end of July and then she’ll find a new job when we get home from our Switzerland/Greece/Germany trip.

At the beginning of May she added another job for the summer - Building Care for the Museum Of Arts. She works every morning from 6:00am - 9:00am Monday - Friday. She has enjoyed being able to listen to audiobooks while working, and enjoys going to sleep early. So very disciplined.

Emily also regularly donates plasma for extra money. Once or twice a week.

Things that Emily Loves:

  • Dr. Pepper

  • Thrifting

  • Phoebe Bridgers

  • Reading and going to the Provo Library

  • Hammocking

  • Movie Marathons with Friends

  • Cooking with Katie (this summer they signed up for a fresh food delivery meal service and have been getting together to make dinners)

  • Sweatshirts

  • Croqueting - and she’s pretty good too!

Emily’s Friends:

  • Mattie (A friend in her complex)

  • Kate (Current Roommate)

  • Maya (Freshman Roommate and Next Year Roommate)

  • Katie and Katie’s roommates - and so excited to have Megan move to Provo too

Housing:

Emily is currently living in the Enclave. She thought she would enjoy having her own room but found that her roommates spent too much time in their bedrooms and not enough time hanging out together. In the fall she’ll be moving to Mountain Wood (just off of University and 700 N.) and will be sharing a room with her friend, Maya. She’s excited to be living close to Katie (University Avenue Condos) and Romney (Liberty on 8th). Megan will be living with Annie at Wellington II Condos on the East side of campus.

Excited for Junior Year Fall Classes:

  1. Clinical Phonetics

  2. Hearing Tests and Measures

  3. Language Development (most excited for)

  4. Medical Speech Pathology

  5. Indoor Rock Climbing (most excited for)

Including this semester, Emily has three semesters until she graduates!
