Lucca, Italy - Instagram Stories

We found our hotel for the night and parked in the shady courtyard.  The friendliest Italian lady checked us in and took us to our room — actually two rooms with a shared bathroom. We freshened up and headed out to explore the city. First stop: rent bikes and ride around the upper city walls.  We biked around at my speed first - leisurely enjoying the views and then the boys timed themselves to see how fast they could do another lap of the city. 10 minutes and 50 seconds. It was such a fun thing to do. The boys could’ve biked for hours and were disappointed when we returned the bikes and headed into the city on foot.

We found some gelato and crepes and explored the narrow streets and oval piazza’s of Lucca. Chris and I decided to climb the tower and amazingly were able to spot the boys on a street below as they wandered around by themselves. It was a charming town and we loved it. We ended the night with the best sausage and potato pizza. So good.
