Midway and the Alpine Loop

We had a great weekend at the Lodge in Midway - just Chris and I, Emily, Katie and Taylor. Shelley drove down to be with the boys, who couldn’t be with us because of Cross Country meets and Homecoming for Luke. Sunday we headed to Katie and Taylor’s apartment for dinner and then continued back to St. George for a couple days, leaving our stuff behind for a bit. We then returned to the Lodge on Wednesday night.

Early Thursday, we headed into the mountains, admiring the bright colors of the changing leaves as we walked the scenic trails of Cascade Springs.

Lunch at Lola’s

We headed home and grabbed Katie and Taylor (both ‘working from home’ at the Lodge and took them to one of our very favorite places in Midway… Lola’s on Main Street. Such a fun place to eat. The steak salad is always my favorite and they have the best sweet potato fries. Fun to eat at a table in the back this time.

Drive through the Alpine Loop

We decided to take the scenic drive to Highland and left early enough that we could stop and take a few pictures on the way to Marilee’s SURPRISE 50th BIRTHDAY PARTY. The colors were extraordinary!

Such beautiful yellow aspen trees in every direction.

Love this gorgeous Katie girl.

Breakfast at the Blue Boar Inn

Friday morning we cleaned the Lodge and then took Emily to try out the Blue Boar Inn — a German restaurant in Midway. The breakfast was delicious. We need to come back for lunch or dinner next time!!

Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway

Enjoying the aspen trees on our way down into Salt Lake City. Then onto West Elm, Pottery Barn and 4 Chairs for some furniture shopping on our way home. So grateful that Chris loves to do scenic drives, lunch and dinner out and helps with furniture shopping. He’s the best!
