Trip to Canada–Grandville Island, Stanley Park and Canada Place
After our trip to the temple we headed downtown to Granville Island straight to the cool toy store. We wandered around, checking out the puppets and kites, and wooden toys. A lot of cool shops there. Then we walked through the Granville Island Market (which just made us hungry) and ended up with some loaves of French bread to share on the pier looking out into the harbor.
It has been over ten years since Chris has been to Stanley Park – back when we lived in Washington, so it was fun to drive around it and enjoy the great trees and beautiful views of Vancouver.
We headed to the park and my Dad pulled out the giant bubbles for the crowds to watch and Mike pulled out the slack line. My kids took turns doing both and playing on the playground and then we decided to head into the city to check out a Gelato place with a constant line out the door. I’m always a little skeptical of Gelato places (that are not in Europe) but this one had my favorite Gelato flavor – Cherry – and it was so good. Chris got Cherry as well.
We took our Gelato and headed around the block to Canada Place… such a cool place to walk around.
We mixed things up a bit and did dessert first. On the way back home we stopped at Safeway to grab some tortilla chips, humus, tomatoes, cucumbers and bread.
