Trip to Canada–Sunday walk to the Pond and Vintage Dress Up
Sure is nice to have a Sunday. We slept in a little bit, went to church and then went for a family walk over to the duck pond. Lots of ducks and lots of fish right by the banks.
After dinner, the girls and I had fun getting the dresses out of the cedar trunk, trying them on and taking a few pictures with my iPhone.
Vintage dress up
- The velvet green dress with Taffeta sleeves (1992) My dress for Grad (called Senior Prom in the States) I picked out the design and fabric and my mom made it for me. ‘Made by Mary’
- The yellow dress (1960) Mom’s Senior Prom dress. She graduated from Clark High School. ‘Made by Mary’
- The orange dress (1968) Mom’s Junior Prom dress. ‘Made by Mary’
- The Red dress (1972) a Bridesmaid dress for Jennifer’s Wedding. Mary made ALL the bridesmaid dresses for that one. ‘Made by Mary’
- The Red flowery dress (1971-1972) Mom made at BYU and wore it for a fancy dance at the Courthouse and several times after that.
- The Blue dress (1998) Amy’s Grad dress. ‘Made by Mary’
- The Yellow pant suit (1973) Mom made in the summer between BYU years. She made it to be her ‘going away’ outfit leaving the Las Vegas reception after getting married in the St. George Temple.
- Red jumpsuit (1970-1971) Mom made at BYU and wore it to a few fancy dances. It was cutting edge to wear a jumpsuit to a dance like that but she was cutting edge since she was in FASHION DESIGN major at BYU.
