Utah Trip–Hanging out with the Cooks

Boy was it fun to hang out with the Cooks.  The kids and I drove to Utah on Sunday – to the Starbucks for Brianna’s farewell and then the Cooks.  Loryn, Hannah, and Sophie ran outside to meet us and the kids wouldn’t even let me park the van properly – they were so excited to get out and give everyone hugs.  It was a fun welcome.

Monday I drove Katie, Emily and Ally to BYU to drop them off for Especially for Youth. (We met up with the Starbucks again and had fun checking Emily and Brooke into their BYU apartment. We even hooked up with Tenley for a little while which was fun. Katie was pretty excited to see her!)  After I dropped them off, I met Liz and her kids and Megan Luke and Matthew at Even Stevens, a yummy sandwich shop for lunch. Then we headed over to seven peaks and had the best day going on rides or just sitting in the pool chairs while all the kids went and had fun. Liz and I had such a great time chatting. We got home late, made some dinner, the kids played on the trampoline outside and we watch some July 24 pioneer day fireworks right outside in Liz's neighborhood. It was a pretty great day.

Our goodnight selfie to send to the EFY girls and Dad back at home.

Tuesday Liz had to work until 12. I went running and then, after we got ready,  took the kids to the Mapleton park where we did obstacle courses and mannequin challenges. They had a lot of fun.  Everyone kept commenting that Luke had the best mannequin faces.  He’s so good!

When Liz got back we ate at Café Rio, and then headed up to  the Lehi fun center -- which is a mini golf place that was free with our 'pass of all passes' for seven peaks. We stayed there for a couple hours,  and the kids loved it… especially the Frog Hopper ride.

My favorite part of the day was going to get ice cream at Rockwells downtown Provo on Center Street. Good ice cream and such a fun area of town right across the street from the Provo city center temple. We ate ice cream and then Liz and I decided to head into a store leaving the six kids outside waiting for us. While we were in there they decided to play clapping games and get into a human pretzel and try and get them selves undone. So when Liz and I came out of the store they we're having so much fun that they begged us to go into another store. I just love that the six of them had so much fun together. Megan, Loryn, Hanna, Sophie, Luke and Matthew.

We headed home again, played outside, made dinner and the kids watched 'Boss Baby' while Liz and I sat on the couch and talked and talked and talked. So much fun to be with them!
