Dinner and Darts with Grandma and Grandpa
On Katie’s first night back in Provo we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Walton’s house for dinner and games. We wouldn’t be able to see them much after this since Katie and Ryan would be around roommates and friends so it was nice to spend the evening with them inside their house. We haven’t done that since we quarantined for weeks to make it happen in June. So exciting for Katie to see them. Mike and Carly — now done with the virus — came over too and it was so great to have them there.
Whitney received a Polaroid Camera for Christmas and Mike told her she could take a few pictures on this very special night with Katie. She had been bouncing up and down excited about it all day. Her first picture was the one of Katie, Ryan, Grandma and Grandpa and I on the top left and she was so thrilled about it that she immediately took a second one by accident capturing Cassie’s legs. That combined with Mike’s reaction was pretty funny.
We enjoyed a great dinner and my mom remarked that it was so wonderful to have people over for dinner. It’s been a long year of being so careful to avoid the Virus — especially for my Dad dealing with Cancer — and things like dinner parties have been generally avoided.
After dinner we headed downstairs for a group game of darts and several more Polaroid pictures. Then back upstairs for Berry Pie and ice cream — which was delicious. When Grandpa heard that Cassie hadn’t seen their epic nerf battle Christmas video, he promptly put it on. She loved it and said it was her new favorite video. It’s pretty adorable. We stayed and talked for another hour or so and then headed up to Midway.
