Kauai, Hawaii - Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail
One evening we grabbed our hiking shoes and walked through the resort and onto Shipwreck Beach, the community beach near the Grand Hyatt. We found the trailhead for the Maha’ulepu Heritage Trail, walked through a short lush forest and then up on top of the bluff.
The whole trail was just gorgeous - especially with ‘golden-hour’ lighting.
The trail goes right along the coastline and the terrain was interesting and not too steep. Chris and I moved pretty quickly but then stopped every so often for pictures.
Really loved these beautiful green flower-like plants growning amid the sand cliffs.
Chris couldn’t help see the beautifully manicured ocean-side golf course and wish he was playing it. Next time! Love him as a hiking buddy.
When we arrived back at the bluff overlooking Shipwreck Beach, we could see The Grand Hyatt all lit up in the distance with the sunset behind it. What a beautiful property.
We got dressed up for dinner and ate at the Tidepools Restaurant and then headed back to our room early to watch a show before bed.
