Brian here for a Week

Brunch at Denver Biscuit Co.

We decided to try out a new restaurant this morning. One that Chris had a gift card to from the ‘12 NEW RESTAURANTS’ gift card present he received from me last year. It was a fun place and we LOVED the food. We will be back.

We had a hard time deciding what to order. Brian went with the classic Biscuits and Gravy but later wished he got what I ordered… THE LOLA, buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, honey butter and maple syrup built on Biscuit French Toast. It came looking like a giant sandwich and it was amazing and so rich. Megan felt like Pizza which was easily ordered from the pizzeria as part of the restaurant.

We walked around the block. It’s such a cool area of Colorado Springs. Love this picture of Brian and I.

Garden of the Gods

One morning we decided to go hiking in Garden of the Gods — off the normal tourist cement walking trail. It was a beautiful morning. When we told Chris what our plans were he decided to use his admin day to walk in the fresh air with us.

Love this picture of one of the large red rocks jetting out of the earth with the sun shining behind it. I’m in a starburst mood today.

Old Colorado City

I thought Brian would like Old Colorado City and I was right. We walked down a couple of blocks and enjoyed the atmosphere and popping into some really fun eclectic stores and boutiques. Brian fell in love with the National Parks book and I later sent it to him for his birthday.

Getting Boosted

We set up an appointment to get the kids boosted since they are now allowing it for kids 12 and up. Brian hadn’t done his yet so he was glad it worked out for him to get it too. Glad I took these pictures. I love them both!

Denver Aquarium

I have a full post with pictures from the aquarium but I wanted to add a few here in the Brian’s Week Post. Fun to go and explore together.

Wingspan

I couldn’t forget about Wingspan. Brian gave it to us for Christmas and we had such a fun week playing it almost every night… usually with a BIRD playlist going on in the background. 3 people is such a great size and made the games right around an hour, so we often played two! So much fun!
