Dinklesbuhl, Germany
We left Prague and headed out into the Czech country side looking for a castle in a nearby village.
And found it… we crept up the narrow winding main street hoping to find an entrance to the castle but couldn’t really find one. Instead we admired it from a distance and got back on the road.
Driving out of town…
The drive was speckled with villages centered around castles or churches. It was a pretty drive.
Dinkelsbuhl is on the Romantic Road about a half hour from Rothenburg (our favorite medieval German city). It was on our way home from Prague and we’d never been there, so I was excited to stop and have a look around. It is a cute city. Lots of half timbered, brightly painted and red roofed houses up and down every street. It was perfect.
We spent a few minutes inside the town’s Cathedral.
And then we climbed the tower…
Charming.
