Back to School Cookies and Journal Pages

It’s a tradition to have cookies and milk as an ‘after school snack’ on the first day of school — plus some kind of journaling page. We’ve done it for years now! I haven’t made cookies for months though so I pulled up the flour from our downstairs pantry and decided to make a huge batch — enough to share with friends and ministering sisters. This year I made a batch of gluten free chocolate chip cookies too so we had a plate of both. (All summer we’ve tried to have a gluten-free kitchen and are just starting to introduce a few things for my other kids and see how it works in the same space. — The butlers pantry is where all gluten bread and cereal is stored and can be prepared. We’re trying to be careful but we’ll have to see if we see any effects from cross contamination. Still so much to figure out.)
