Bomb Cyclone Blizzard Aftermath

While Chris and I were stuck in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - unable to get home - Emily, Megan, Luke and Matt were experiencing the Bomb Cyclone Blizzard back in Colorado Springs. On Tuesday afternoon the email came saying that there would be NO SCHOOL the following day. Everyone seemed to think it was a little preemptive. Even on Wednesday morning there was hardly any snow. But then it came. So much snow, and even more WIND — hence the Bomb cyclone Blizzard. Who even came up with that name? Wednesday the kids stayed home all day and ventured out with boots and winter coats to head to the Jacksons house for dinner and ice cream. (Megan flew home on Tuesday and was able to beat the storm.) When I told the kids to take a picture of what it looked like outside they said, “We can’t. It’s just white.” We heard lots of stories of cars being stranded and people having to leave their cars and walk. Crazy.

Thursday and Friday were both SNOW DAYS. The kids had so much fun playing outside working on snow tunnels, forts and slides.

Well, Bomb Cyclone Blizzard of March ‘19 with your ‘thunder snow’... you are one to be remembered!
